HTC said that H2H, when it is re-released, will only be available to subscribers ... "freeloaders" need not apply.

Personally I never was upset that h2h was free.  Actually tuck advantage of it when unemployed for 3 month.  The bit I could NEVER understand was that it was FREE.  I mean what the heck for?  HTC is in business to make some hard cash for his toil....not give a load of WWII aircraft geeks a play room.

In retail we have lose leaders.  Products sold for cost or a fraction under just to entice more shoppers who invariably buy other products...some of those products being price inflated to cove loss leader losses.

We also have spoilers.  One chain advertises product X very cheaply but another chain virtually gives the same product away in an attempt to keep customers going to the other chain.

Both of these I couldn't see working for HTC.  They may have enticed a few guys away from IL-2 or Microsoft's thingy but I'd wager less than a percent converted to the MA's as fully paid up subscribers.

I just hope he charges folk for the h2h's so's he gets more money and develop the game further with some of the proceeds. :aok

One thing that was nice about "free" H2H was that a paying customer could use free shades accounts for H2H.  I have found that sometimes flying under a "throwaway" ident makes it more fun to try new things.

Maybe HTC could allow paying players to create a handful of shades accounts just for H2H...

As I said, the purpose of this topic was to stir-up the pot and it worked darn well.

The anti-h2h/freeloader/squeaker cult with disciples started the same song again and hysterically avoiding the positive h2h arguments.

The subscription-h2h with permanent GAMEID would be very nice.

I liked H2H even as a paying customer...instant fight with fun maps and sometimes better pings than the MA. HtHide made some crazy arenas with pillars in the middle for exemple...kindof like playing star wars with an La5  :huh

I used to leave my H2H room up while sleeping, was fun to wake up in the morning and have people still furballing in it  :aok It was a great tool for advertising, people could have some fights until they are hooked and go for the real game...but I guess everything has to be abused of nowadays.

H2H will only be available to "subscribers" (those who pay) without an added charge, I believe.

Told ya so... :P

I really don't care HOW they do it (HTH Hosting)...just DO IT. :)  I had a conversation with the "powers that be" back in Oct. of last year and he indicated that  "It is not beyond the realm of possibility we would offer 8 player to paying subscribers". SO, don't be surprised IF sometime in the "not too distant future" HTH returns in one form or another...just hope it returns before my "arthur-i-tis" prevents ANY game play:(

I could care less about H2H. I simply love how some folks try and go around jerking other people's chains....when they totally lack the strength to pull their own <insert appendage of your choice here>. Have a great day.  :devil
