Dueling Arena...
« on: October 30, 2008, 07:28:08 PM »
Furballing in the dueling arena IMO is a lot more fun than getting constantly picked or hoed in the MAs... but what I dont get is why the tempy and typhoon is abled?? like some of the other players were saying its completely ironic its called "furball" but you cant furball because all you have is tempys, poneys, LAs etc... picking you everytime you start to fight. and how some planes that are fun to fight in a furball are not enabled like the val.

So please PLEASE PLEASE disable the non-furball type planes or at least the tempest from furball lake!!!

It's not the plane but the pilot.  Remove the any of the planes you want will just mean those pilots will up in a different plane and do the same thing.

There is also no such thing as a 'non-furball' type fighter and you have to rething your definition of a 'furball'.  Furball means a large aerial fight between two large groups.  Nowhere in the definition of a furball does it say that is has to be solely a turn fight between two large groups.

First off the DA is not intended, designed for endless furballing.

You would be better off alternating between the TA (to learn) and one of the main arena's (to put into practice)

Try midwar arena, smaller crowds, no late war monsters, lots of good pilots to watch how they do it.

Sounds to me like someone's been killed by temps too often in the DA.

Really what do you expect, there's no perk cost so mostly all you'll see at "furball lake" is Temps and Chogs.  :huh

I agree, I've upped the TBM in there a few times, got into some good fights, (shame I don't have the SS's on this comp, the only one I have is this one)

It really doesn't matter the plane, It's the pilot. Last I checked TBM vs F4U1-C should be rape... but, well, it was, but the TBM was doing it! :D
Get rid of the griefers, imo AHII should be a MATURE game, and anyone intentionally causing issues i.e. tach, should be at least temp banned, then if they continue, perma banned, but why would htc do that? It's $ right?

furball has an exact definition? didnt even know it was a real word. for the 3 or 4 years that ive played furball has always been defined as a some what all turning small area type fight. thought a large aerial fight was just considered a dog fight.... im not really excluding poneys or lalas but tempy is just as close as a 163 or 262 why not just simply disable it.

Like I said, you have to learn what the definition of a furball is.

Dogfight: a battle in the air at close quarters between fighter planes

Furball: Large aerial fight between two large groups; A thickly populated dogfight

If you disable the Tempest or any other late war E style fighter, you're not going to stop the problem.  All you will do is drive those players into another plane and they'll do the same thing over and over.  It's not the plane that makes the player fly like a dweeb, it's the player and no matter what plane they are in, they'll still fly like dweebs.

A good example is that squadron that flies in the DA, the TAS guys.  On whole, probably the most unskilled squadron this game has seen in a long, long time.  Get them out of their Tempests, Spitfire Mk XVIs and F4Us and make them fly at the furball altitude and they'll quickly die, which is why they fly as high as they do and pick.  I know it's annoying but that's all they pretty much are, an annoyance factor.  Even with their altitude, they are still quite easy to shoot down without having to resort to flying like them, flying the planes they do or getting their planes removed from the DA.

TAS is no problem they can get shot down in what ever they want  ;)

there is a good reason for the perk system in the MA at least they should make the temp a perk ride... as long as they are allowed to fly it the harder it is to have fun and get better for everyone. perking would make people at least work for it not just hand it over
