A good example is that squadron that flies in the DA, the TAS guys.  On whole, probably the most unskilled squadron this game has seen in a long, long time.  Get them out of their Tempests, Spitfire Mk XVIs and F4Us and make them fly at the furball altitude and they'll quickly die, which is why they fly as high as they do and pick.  I know it's annoying but that's all they pretty much are, an annoyance factor.  Even with their altitude, they are still quite easy to shoot down without having to resort to flying like them, flying the planes they do or getting their planes removed from the DA.

ack-ack

Dont forget the massive hordes they implement that can shut down the whole furballing part completely... especailly in the middle of the day or very late at night. I'd like to implement an auto balance where if there is one side that has more than 50% of the players, it auto balances the people out. Maybe put in a ENY system.

No one knows what the future may bring.

very true but it would be hard because of the 1v1ers

Yea, I'd probably suggest making a new DA map, (where you can 1 v 1 on all 3 sides)

theres no way they would do that. we would be lucky enough to get the tempy marked at 1 perk point

I say just disable planes that are usually perked
while akak is right that it is the pilot, the tempest and chog is perked for a reason, in the ma u will never, ever see tempest try to turn fight you unlike in the da

temps,c-hogs,etc are perked becuase they outclass other planes in different ways the temp and c-hog are some the fastest planes in the game

there is always a dweeb in a temp

whenever i see a typh i say " oh lookie another temp dweeb"

yes they will up another plane and do the same thing but it will be more easy to handle because it won't unbalance the furball

Eh, IMO, making a new DA map isn't up to HTC though, it's up to the players. If I had any clue how to make a map, I'd  have made tons already  :(

i know making a new DA map isnt up to htc but using it is which is why nothing will be changed

disabling planes that are normally perked would be awesome

...c-hog are some the fastest planes in the game

Bzzzt.

Depending on the altitude, the F4U-1C can be outrun by:

P-51B and D
La-7
Tempest (ok, moot point, but still....)
109K
190D
F4U-1
F4U-1A (fastest of the 1-series Hogs, btw, but still can be run down by some of the others in this list)
F4U-1D (VERY slim margin, by maybe 2-5mph owing to slight increase in drag of the 20mm cannon)
F4U-4
P-47D (all blocks)
P-47N
Typhoon at low to mid alts
Spitfire Mk. XIV
Yak-9U

As you can see she's not even the fastest HOG.

Anyway, Ar, your best tactic is to climb to altitude YOURSELF. Whether in the Mains or the DA I avoid arriving in a fight under 15,000ft (sometimes 20-25k depending on the map, as there's a couple of the larger ones that promote very high-altitude cruising and fights) precisely to keep those high pickers in their Tempests from having the initiative.

Also, remember if he's dropping on you at 500mph, he's not going to be able to turn. Execute a low-yo under him. Start with a shallow diving left turn to gain yourself some E, then at 1000-1500yds break into a low yo-yo to pull under him. He'll have at best a brief snapshot with an unmanageable rate of closure, and will probably overshoot and scrub most of his speed trying to recover. Meanwhile you can either pop up into a zoom climb as he resets his perch and repeat to work away his altitude advantage, or if he significantly overshoots or blows all his speed to fight it just roll over out of your zoom and drop on top of him.

Works maybe 80-90% of the time, depending on the opponent's skill level.

Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Just up a Tempy and shoot them down.  They have the option to fly that plane, and so do you.:aok

It isnt that hard to avoid them when they are bnzing its just when they continue to do it while u are in the middle of a fight is when it becomes the biggest problem

besides who flies the temp in the DA to get better? Nobody... the only reason they fly it is to be as annoying as possible. and its always like that doesnt matter what they say

There is no point to doing that. all they do is up again, and it makes you no better than them

That's one reason I fly in the DA like I would in the Mains. I don't go right into the deck furballs. I climb to altitude and fly to the location of the fight. I hold my altitude and make sure any dots on dar within or near visual range are accounted for before rolling in. I particularly make an effort to pick up high dots first. Only then do I join the general engagement. If I start running out of altitude or there's an excess of high cons inbound looking to cherry pick I egress and grab to neutralize their advantage.

I do pretty much the same thing Saxman... I normally try to make an effort not to climb above 8 or 9k which puts me usually below everyone else. but as long as there is no tempys its all good

There is only one thing in DA that should get fixed as soon as possible.

The external views should get disabled. At least for the fighter planes.
