Sorry for bumping this post...

I recently got addicted to this game and I had a few questions.

Where can I get some fun weapons? All I have at the moment are the fat man, hunting rifle, Chinese Assault Rifle, 10mm Auto Rifle (I think that's what it's called) Sniper rifle, and Combat Shotgun.

I'm level 7 and I barely have enough ammo for any of my guns, aside from my Assault Rifle, Hunting Rifle, and Shotgun.
I LOVE the shotgun.  My small weapons level is somewhere around.... 50-60, with big weapons around 30, and lazer weapons untouched.
So where can I find weapons?

It's probably not too late to switch to lazer weapons or big weapons (sadly, I sold the chaingun I was using because I didn't have any ammo for it for the longest time)

Also, I was thinking of starting a melee only character, or a character that can one hit kill almost anything, but with melee.  How would I go about doing this?

Where can I find some slavers?

Slavers at Paradise Falls. It's not too hard to spot - it's got a big cartoon effigy from some commercial franchise on top of it.  Otherwise they're in the wastelands ferrying slaves.

I've tried that melee character, it's alright but you really have to work your way thru gunfire, since you can't command sidekicks to use corresponding tactics like suppressive fire.  You prolly would benefit a lot (implying big skill points expense) from good sneaking ability.  There's a couple of pretty good weapons.  The supersledge is one of the best, if not the best.  I can't recall if that one-off mechanical fist that you find in the nuke factory is classified melee or unarmed.
Overall, I found that it's pretty slim pickins till you get your hands on a supersledge.

I dunno what to recommend as far as fun guns go.  I found the hunting rifle a blast, used on ghouls' heads.  It kinda sounds like you need to do some more roaming and poaching/pawning.  And the fat man is fun.. Dunno how you'd not like that one  :)

You should look up some of the mods.  There's a couple of minimal ones that are really worth it.  To allow you to repair guns and items belonging to the same families (e.g. Assault and Chinese Assault), and misc stuff that's plain wrong like the Medic Prototype mech suit whose user manual says black on white that it's made so anyone can wear it without even having to be trained for it (which you only get later in the game, at a point where it's not that interesting an armor anymore), or to slow down the wear&tear to reasonable level.

I love Lincoln's Repeater - a .44 lever action rifle with a good punch. I can't remember where I found it - probably at the history museum. Sniper rifle is available in the Bethesda Ruins (believe that's what it's called) just across the river and NE from the Super Mart. I double check locations when I get home.

Im borrowing the game from a friend. Ive been on it non stop. In Minefield theres an old dude that has a sniper eifle. I loved mine till it broke. Ive found going out on recon runs just to see what I can find turns into saves and cool stuff. Took ne a couple days to realize I didnt have to walk EVERYWHERE. Love this game!

Skip the Operation Anchorage DLC, it's really not all that worth it.  Not that it's not fun, it's a nice little diversion but it doesn't add anything to the Fallout 3 atmosphere.  The Pitt however is pretty good and worth the cost.  The next DLC involves the Brotherhood of Steel and raises the level cap and lets you free roam afterwards.

There's a pretty cool MMO coming down the pipe sometime this year called Fallen Earth.  From the screenshots and what I've read on the forums, it's pretty much like an online version of Fallout 3.

Has anyone ever found all of the sites to visit yet?  I purchased this game two (2) months ago and I'm finally at the end.  I wish you could extend past level 20 though!  Or is that another item I haven't found yet?

Get the classic fallout weapons packs, a MUST for your killing needs. ;)

Add's a TON of weapons from fallout1 & 2 that RIGHTFULLY should have been in it, sweetheart bags.

Trust me.

I had Dogmeat set as unable to be killed. It gets to where he spots stuff way before I do and Dogmeat on Deathclaw isnt even close to fair. Hell.Having the dog along was one of the best parts of the game.  :)
