Some of those mods seem nice but a few would make the game too easy for me.

cheater

I played on hardest from the get go... damned bears and deathclaws are brutal not to talk about the behemoths....  flame thrower works great for ghouls before you get the ghoul mask.

Same here. When we found old olney we were still only about level 7. Spent 40 mins reloading the same autosave right before fighting a pair of deathclaws that just kept slaughtering us.. The only game that rivals this for freak out factor is Doom 3 with the little girl's voices in dark rooms.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

Enclave enabled makes the game tougher, much tougher actually if your out cruising in the wilderness.

Instead of just the random bear, raider, or deathclaw you have 2 - 4 guys in power armor and plasma guns that shoot first and ask questions later. And while one ties you up, the other 2 will be trying to flank you. Personally I don't wear power armor myself, slow and clumsy. So 3 good hits from a plasma and your loading a saved game.

Granted some make some parts of it easier, some just make it more interesting, or more convenient.

But thats the nice thing about mods, suit yourself.

New one posted today lets you sign up as a caravan guard, pays you in cash or karma for a completed trip.

Deathclaws and Yao's still scare the bejesus out of me at times. Especially after dark. All of a sudden your going "did I hear something breathing down my neck? Was that a footstep?" GRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWW Aww crap. Keeps me coming back for more though.

Anyone play FarCry 2 yet?  Almost like Fallout 3 but without the RPG elements and just as good fun.  I love driving around the plains and jungle in my beat up Pinto looking car, running over other mercenaries or lighting them up with molotov cocktails and watching them run around and catching everything else on fire.

Did it to a couple or mercs that had a road block set up, one of them ran into a hut that had some other mercs and ammo stores.  I laughed so hard when the guy on fire caught the ammo store on fire and blew everything up.  Unfortunately, I was looking through the window and caught a significant portion of the blast myself.

Ghost,
How do you enable the mods after you move them into the data file?
I regret doing business with TD Computer Systems.

Use the fallout launcher, where it says "Play"  "Options" "Data Files" "Tech Support" and "Exit"

Click Data files, you'll get a new window pop up with "Fallout3.esm: and any other mods you've added to the data folder.

Simply check the box to have the game load it.

Then Ok, then Play

I only keep the 15 or so favorite mods in the data folder.
All the rest I keep in a folder I made called "espfiles"

Just makes it easier to keep things sorted out.
But then I LIKE playing around with different mods. I'm constantly trying new ones.

YES, i know im bumping something so old, but only because there are tools you people need to enjoy your game.

Archives validated (Fixes add on skin errors and issues runing mods.

Use the FOMM "Fall Out mod manager" to choose what file (.esp) to load first, thus avoiding conflics with mods that use the same item numbers .ect .ect.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=640

Classic fallout weapons.(*A must have!*)
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=2307

Add's tons of weapons stupidly left out by bethesda from fallout1 & 2 (A MUST HAVE)

-Also check for Better than fallout mods, as they also enhance other attributes of the game to make it look more like fallout1 & 2.-

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=318
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=584

I LOVE these above mods, as to ME fallout3 was a rape, a robbery of the classic fallout in interface setup and feel.

Hope this helps, if you whine about a bump of a old post, without checking the intell provided to make your fallout gaming more enjoyable, kick yourself in the head. And if you have any other opinions wish/wants about fall out that are negative, keep them to yourself, as this bump is only intended to provide tools for people who enjoy fallout3.

I found an add on that turns the bar in Megaton to a strip joint.  It's nice to wander in, grab an ice cold bottle of Nuka-Cola and get a lap dance after a long day wondering the Wastelands.

Top 50 Fallout3 mods, grab anything that you like the sound of, you can't go wrong.
These are all proven top performers.

Autoaim adjusted so you can shoot someone in the head and not have their leg blow off, or vice versa.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=36864

Tired of doors you can't pick because your lockpick skill is too low?
Ammo containers you can't open? Or just plain suck at lockpicking?

Don't pick it, blow it! You decide the realism level after the game starts.

http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/download.php?id=35715
So you pick up a really cool weapon off a dead raider. You want to use it but its virtually useless.
You don't have time to go running off to Rivet City just to get it fixed. With this mod chances are with a few tin cans,
some wonder glue, or a box of detergant, you can fix that piece up and start killing with it.
The ultimate "make do with what you have to hand" mod.

Negative.

All we get is the Operation: Anchorage DLC, right now.

"There are two more pieces of Downloadable Content in addition to Operation: Anchorage in the works. The next installment is entitled “The Pitt,” and will send the player to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, disguised as a slave in order to join, or usurp, a tribe of raiders that have taken over the steel yards there. The third DLC is called “Broken Steel.” This DLC will change the ending of the main quest of Fallout 3 and allow the player to continue their quest in the wasteland. It also raises the level cap to 30, add new foes, weaponry and allows the player to irrevocable alter the wasteland in profound new ways." - Jeff Gardiner, lead producer for Fallout 3 DLC

Try the 'increased spawns' mod, you end up fighting 2-6x as many enemies and sometimes the bigger stuff (like Mutant Behemoth) is thrown in as well.

Makes the game a lot more interesting when instead of seeing 2 or 3 mutants, you look around you and you're seeing more than 10.
