Political discussion ingame
« on: November 04, 2008, 09:41:18 PM »
How about getting some mods and nuking political crap there too? The same people who can't have a civil discussion in the forums, can't have one ingame either.

I would have figured this would be painfully obvious by now, but apparently it's not. Please kill it.

Just turn off channel 200. I'm glad I did it.

But really, get that crap of country chat. I don't know if it's only in rooklandistan, but this crap is horrible.

Cleaning up the country text in general would be nice. A lot of people blabbering on about everything.
I would like the country text to just show country-relevant information. Room text should be used for local communication.
Private conversations could still be done by tuning to your intended sounding board. 200 can still have all the blabbering.

Here is my idea for country text:
   -  if you need to alert a base, there will be a dot command, e.g.  ".alerta20" to alert field A20.
   -  if you start a mission, you could type ".missionup".
   -  if we still need a country blabber channel, you could tune vox to ".country2".
This would help reduce the b.s. on country text for those that don't want it.

Sorry for the hijack, but i think this suggestion is relevant to the thread.

edited for bad spelling. hope i got them all.

At least expand the squelch list.. rook country channel getting unbearable these days. I'm amazed by the sheer volume of dumbness, hysteria, ridiculous claims, political naivety and racist comments.

It will probably all taper off in the next couple of days... and then roar up again in January... and then taper off again.

This is one of the big things that drove me out of the game in favor of just "playing" the forums.  I still pay for my account, but I hardly ever log on.

He isn't blaming the whole team, he is saying he left it to get away from the few loudmouths that were dominating the buffer.

also i think if someone is reported by 3 or more people heir text should be shut off for at least 10 min's, second offense 45 min's and 3 rd offense should be 24 hours... just  a thought
