this is a game and not a real world scenario.
no place for "real world politics".

most people, including myself fly here to escape the drudgery of every day life, if only breifly.

The only politics that should be discussed here are what the rooks, bish or knights are doing on the map to conquer the world and what can we do to prevent it.

i agree with this all, squeak to someone other than a person playin a game if you got a problem.

i do the game to get away from reality for a few moments (maybe longer more than not), but it helps me through the day.

ive got nothing against MjTalon, as ive flown with him many times; and even though he isnt white i dont understand why someone would have to be so pathetic to insult a non-white man over a game radio,thats just lame

I don't even engage in any type of political/racial banter. I honestly shouldn't have popped in game after the election because i knew in the back of my mind it was going to lead to something epic. But I've been reading about Squelching and de tuning.

You can't detune country chat. Simple. I didn't get involved into anything over 200. It what was said over Country Chat that caused the drama. As for the "Tough Skin" I wouldn't disregard that statement, i won't debate weather i do or don't have it. Anyone that has ever flown with me will tell you that I'm not a disrespectful person in any way, form, or fashion by all means.

But what was said over rook channel was possibly the most degradable comments I've seen. I mean the political talk was expected but do some people even stop to think that they're multi ethical players that also fly? It was just bash after bash after bash towards myself and & Blacks in general ( Some tried to cover it up while using Obama as a headline ). But I've already said my peace. Please let these threads die, nothing more to be said.

Heh it seems to me that some definitions are needed here? I see folks spouting off about being "racist" as tho that activity can ONLY be assigned to one race. 

The facts are that ANY activity done on the basis of one's skin color is racist, and that activity can be bad OR good.

Techically any organization that supports a group based on skin color is RACIST, be that the KKK OR the NAACP or any other group so consituted.

Looks to me like the purpose of this whole thread has ZERO to due with AH and everything to do with PC (not the computer)

Get back to flying the game and forget the junk it will go better for ya.

I love how many judgments and opinions are being spouted off here by people who don't know half the relevant facts.

People can only respond to the information that is posted.  If a thread is going to be started, all the information concerning the subject should be posted.  If the thread starter does not want to post the information, then the thread should never be started.  If someone is going to post in a public forum, expect opinions based on the information given.  If the opinions are based on lack of information, then state the facts, or never start the thread.

Though I was not on the night of the election, I have garnered some of what I think was said.  MJTalon, I find the reason for this thread deplorable.  It is widely known I am a conservative and though I do not agree with Obama's policies, I am proud that we, as a nation, have come so far as to be able to elect Obama. 
      I have not flown beside you but I have flown against you and been shot down by you.  You were always graceful in victory.  Your actions in victory say much about your character.  I am proud to have known you, sir.  I am sorry to see you leave and particularly under these circumstances.  I wish you all the best of luck

I wasn't on Aces High Tuesday night either, but it sounds like people were being bigots on rook country channel.  These are probably people that Talon previously respected.  Therefore I can certainly understand him switching to another country and/or leaving the game.  If I were on I would have reported everyone doing it and if they were in my squad, I'd have additionally taken it to the squad leadership with the expectation that they be booted.  If they weren't booted (after a fair trial, as that's how its done in the LCA) I'd leave my squad.

I've been online in various MMOs enough to know that in a group of over 10 people or so, there's always going to be people who hide behind their anonymity and push their free-speech rights as far as they go.  The thing is, free speech rights don't go as far within the game of Aces High as they can go elsewhere in the USA and other free countries... within Aces High there are additional rules you agree to when you join the game.  But these people will say it anyways and wait for the punishment, which will only come if they're reported.

These people will always exist and say their offensive statements, the best thing to do is report and move on, and if they remain in the game because HiTech is lax in banning them, don't associate with them.  But even if they're banned, 2 more will take their place.  Because of that I don't see the logic in quitting the game... there are no alternative games where these people don't exist.  The good guys quitting seems like a harsh and unfair penalty for the bad guy's poor behavior, and its self inflicted.

I guess the TL;DR version is Talon, don't quit!
