I know I'm gonna kill the spelling on this one due to intake of alcoholic beverages, but Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman and Howe did a great gig a while back, one of my favorite albums, but sometimes you just have to know when to quit.  John Bonham released a good album too, but will never quite be the player his dad was.  Still, might be interesting to see some live YES again.

The band is not Yes.  The band is called "In the Present" and consists of Steve Howe, Alan White and Chris Squire from Yes, with Rick Wakeman's son Oliver on keys and some guy singing that Squire found on Youtube.  This singer, David Benoint, has been in a Yes tribute band in Canada for years.  Jon Anderson has been suffering from acute respiratory failure but is on the mend, having to cancel out from this past summers "Close to the Edge and Back" Yes tour.  Rick Wakeman preferred to take a break simply because he felt Yes had overdone itself the last half dozen years or so
and simply did not want to tour.  Far as I know he is in good health for the most part.

To be sure, they are playing nothing but Yes material.......and yeah, the three original members are all in their late 50s, but as far as musician's go that's still prime territory for musicianship.

Go see this band if you get the chance.  Howe is a legendary guitarist who is quite simply wonderful to listen to, White is a legendary drummer who owns the back beat like no other and is the kindest man you will ever meet, and Squire simply is the most thunderous Rickenbacker bassist ever to walk the face of the earth.

I remember someone once saying if there's ever a band that will play when the Apocalypse happens it will be centered around Chris Squire.

Yeah, when I was coming up as a noob bassist in junior high back in the late 70s I was kinda retro, listening a lot to the Who, Cream, Beatles......and lighter current stuff, Cheap Trick, Clash, Blondie etc.........When my older brother came home from college during the summer of 78 he pulled me off to the side and said "Man, you really need to listen to this."  It was Tales from Topographic Oceans and one night after band practice we started to imbibe good vibes from the skunk weed God.  I put that tape on and every single one of us fell in love with that music.

I loved everything about that album but Squire washed over me like a massive tidal wave.  What that guy has accomplished with that Rickenbacker 4001 has provided me with immeasurable joy for thirty years (I am proud owner of no. 242 of the Rickenbacker 4001CS Limited Edition Signature Series basses).  From Tales I went on to discover Fragile, Close to the Edge, Yessongs, Relayer, Going for the One, Tormato,...then Drama, 90125, Big Generator, Union, Talk......and lots of stuff above below and in between.  Been a blast!

Saw Yes in San Diego back in the 70's ... Peter Frampton was the opener. The thing I remember best was a big sign somebody made that said "Howe, show Frampton the way"
