And do it as accurately as possible history wise.  November 44,  Merseberg time maybe.  Same time frame as DGS.  Get the Jug drivers in D-25s or 30s,  B and D ponies.  38j and L 38s.  Put a piece of history within the game as best you can.  As Del says, we'll bring you some escorts

Yes! I was hoping the 38 guys would speak to this. :salute

Historical immersion is a key objective of MoM Guppy.
Here is our Order of Battle (if participation levels permit)

I have a nifty org chart of this in the orders but here is the redacted text version.
(You will find that these unit designations are also historical)

1st Combat Bombardment Wing
• 91st Bomb Wing (B-17G)  CO: Tarstar (LCA)
• 381st Bomb Wing (B-17G)  CO: 96Delta (LCA)
• 398th Bomb Wing (B-17G) CO: pd37 (LCA)

67th Fighter Wing
• 364th Fighter Group (P-38L) CO: Hightone (LCA)
• 352nd Fighter Group (P-47D-25)  CO: Limbo0 (357th Death Dragons)
• 356th Fighter Group (P-51D) CO: Dakone (LCA)

My hope is to eventually rotate Bomber and Fighter Group
commands among ROOK squadron commanders in future MoM events.
ROOK Squadron commanders interested in commanding a group
in a future MoM can register on our website at http://www.lcasquad.org/

Delirium, we will be targeting strats and we will most definitely not be NOE!

The only thing that worries me is cheaters and spies who don't want
a fair fight but who only want to ruin other people's fun.  If we could
purge these vermin from our midst, everyone in the arena can have
a great time.  I hope that everyone who enjoys this stuff will ignore
or, better yet, expose these vandals for all to see.

Thanks for your interest.  Hope you can make it!   :aok

Not knowing too much about all this, it sounds like fun.  However, historically the Axis knew they were fighting the Allies, and they would be coming to hit their country.  Everybody knew who the enemy was and who's targets would be hit.

If this doesn't ruin everything, would it be fair to ask if you are going after Knits or Bish?  Last MoM many spent an hour just trying to find out which country you were attacking to join in.  You might negate some people spying to find out who you've chosen for an opponent.  Not asking the actual targets, just what one-third of the map you will be operating in so people can give you a good fight.

Just a thought.

However, historically the Axis knew they were fighting the Allies, and they would be
coming to hit their country.  Everybody knew who the enemy was and who's targets would be hit.

Sloehand, the issue that caused us the most grief last time were spies with two
accounts who reported what bases we were launching from and what our flight path
would be.  We were even told that much of our opposition were already airborne
and on the way directly towards us before we even spawned on the runway!!
That's just 'gaming' the game and undermines the historical 'feel' we are trying for.

Now I have no problem with squads sending out scouts or just using their common
sense to see where we are but the spying thing is completely indefensible, as
is anyone who uses info derived from spying to launch an attack.

To thwart this kind of nonsense, I may just change the posted mission launch
bases a few minutes before we launch.  Then anyone who launched based on spy intel
will be flying to an empty corner of the map.  There is a downside to this but
in the end, we may have no choice.

Anyway, to answer your question, we won't know what country (or countries)
we will be attacking until we get a chance to look at the map and can see where
the most viable targets are.
