Wind is on in the MA now.  Cool.  I find it fun and interesting to fly with wind.

Problem:  Wind settings can not be viewed by players.

How about a wind sock on the tower so we can pick the correct direction for take off and landing?

Or a weather report available in the tower, showing wind conditions aloft and at the surface.

Or at least make the wind settings viewable in the Arena Settings menu.

<Offers funked one of his socks>

It's a left sock (I can tell by the smell), but you're a smart guy and can convert it into a wind sock.

Or chemical weapon

I ask for a LARGE visible windsock as well. I lost a plane due to wind on landing. If there had been a way to determine the direction of the wind I could have  changes runways.

Biologic, StSanta...the forms of life on that sock must be very resistant ones, and mutated ,too...

Throw that to a field and see how all the pilots die

Hi All,
We Don't need a Wind sock Just slide back the hood, Lick your finger and raise it above your head (That will tell you which way the wind is blowing)

Problem solved, Next.....

This hit me like a flying brick...

A windsock would be great but only give field elevation wind indications.  A weather report in the tower would be impossible to retrieve in flight.  How about...

A radio buffer message that mimics a real life ATIS. Such a feature tuned while in flight for a realtime wx report that could include surface winds, winds aloft, cloud locations and levels.

Ouch, that brick hurt  =)

Someone suggested a while ago when this issue came up that there could be a smoke trail to indicate wind direction.  This to me would be the easiest to do because we already have the SMK rounds in the Panzer.  Just stick a never ending SMK round on top of the tower.  This way you could fly by and determine the wind direction.

I was under the impression that sub 10k the wind is W\E, between 10k-20k its E\W.And above 20k...?

True or false?

A little triangle on top of the tower.  That's all we need.  The simplest possible polygon.

I got the feeling there WEREN'T any wind below 10K?
Because when I look at my bomber from the F4 view it will look as its going same way as the camera looks.
Above 10K on the other hand you are able to see the plane seem to go a little sideways from the F4 view (if you haven't got wind in directly from front or rear off course)
