flakbait and others,
I think you should reconsider your realism POV.
You are talking about wind.
You're right, Wind is NEVER the same or constant.
But what are you asking for? You want 10 Million possible wind speeds, directions, sheers, thermals, etc? Or are you just looking to have the wind push the bombs so that the "to easy" Buff job is more realistic?
And while you are contemplating the wind effects, why are you not complaining about other realisms?
What about the head gaskets that blew when the water/alchohol was dumped into the cylinders? What about the lack of mixture controls?
What about the fact that all our gage systems are FAR from the real planes that they model?
How about the fact that the forest areas have trees that don't rip the hell out of your plane when you run them over?
Birds?
Crappy gas at Japanese bases?
Death is a one timer!
Random Gun jams?
Rain?
Snow?
Ice?
Glass that shatters and leaves your view obscured?
Flapping sheet metal after losing a part?
Flames in your face when you are on fire?
Smoke from the gun barrels?
...on and on...
I like that we have wind effects such as they are now. If HTC makes them better, cool! But I would rather see the realism concentration in other areas right now.
At some point, we have to turn our "Realism" attention to the fact that we are sitting in a chair, not an aircraft that is 10K Ft. off the ground going 300mph.
I think this is one of those times.
