Lil Wayne Isn't in a Recession
« on: December 09, 2008, 07:01:40 PM »
It's nice to see that some people aren't being affected by the poopeous global economy!

But of course, those that aren't affected are the ones with the millions.

To celebrate Lil' Wayne's 26th birthday, rapper Birdman threw him a huge party on Monday in Miami hotspot Mansion nightclub.

Birdman, who Lil'Wayne calls his "adopted father", really went all out for the event. The two even have matching cross tattoos on their foreheads.

There was large Cash Money Records ice sculpture in the room. And the sculpture was holding bottles of Cristal, which usually retail for $1,000. There were 30 bottles there alone.

Other ice sculptures had $100 bills frozen inside.

But that isn't the best part of the night.

Pretty boy Lil' Wayne got an even better gift from Birdman.

A Lui Vuitton briefcase filled with a MILLION dollars in CASH as a gift!

Seriously!

We hope they both have some really good accountant, cuz you know the IRS is gonna want to see if that money is on the books. And, even if it's a gift, Wayne has to report that money!

Wonder if anyone stayed around for the ice sculptures to melt?

These cats are ballin. I think Wayne sold the most records of 2008. His album was out of this world. What would your dream party be?

nope not in the least bit, i play guitar, i'm in a blues band where we play mostly blues and some rock and roll

I have 0 respect for rap music and the arrogent lifesyle rappers lead, case and point Kanye West saying he is the "voice of this generation", if he is the one speaking for me, kill me now.

Their music takes little talent and anyone can make beats on their computer and ryhming lyrics to match, other forms of music have lyrics, a beat, rythm guitar, lead guitar, bassline, keyboards, etc etc

so no i am far from jealous, it's just a shame that people grow up these days with little knowledge of real quality music, instead they buy into this catchy garbage.

what are people going to sing to their kids at night, definatly not a kanye or lil wayne song or whoever, this music isn't timeless, its a fad

As for Kanye West I can't agree more, he just seems like a self righteous sweetheart bag.

Kanye West took one of my favorite songs by Daft Punk and turned it into a pile of dog crap. All they do is take other peoples songs and then add their own crappy lyrics into them.

Take out melody and harmony and you get rap. its art of some kind, it just aint music.
rap does not = music

sorry if that sounds harsh (and it is) but ive been a professional musician all my life and will never equate
rappers with musicians nor will i equate rap with music. it just aint music. I think its fine if one likes that sort of thing but that don't make it music. Rap is certainly valid entertainment of some kind but not the same as music.
