Warbirds tried that for their main arena years ago.  It was axis vs allies with a rolling planeset.  Really nice idea, but it tore the community apart.

i think the bases are plenty close together. based on last night the bloodshed was incredible. a short flight and a quick trip to the tower. was a good time all and all, even if OM and larry were totally dominating me!

All of the fights were challenging, Jaeger, I had a great time.

As for the map:  Congratulations to Easyscor and his elves.  HTC won't allow MA maps to have bases this close together (sorry, folks, but I don't think you'll ever see this map in the MAs), but it really works great in AvA.  If you want a low-alt fight, your opponent is almost within sight once you raise the gear.  If you want to grab some alt before engaging, there's another friendly base, just a bit further back (and another one behind that) that will let you do so.

Think Blitzkrieg. Without a regulated arena, use the P40b as sub for the D.520 and Hawk 75. Though you could argue the P40e is closer to the 520 in some ways, it's a little too good and would overpower the LW. Throw in the M8, M3, jeep, and sub LVTs for early tanks. Oh how I wish we had early war tanks, :pray.

And thanks for the compliment.
Easy in-game again.

The D.520 had a maximum speed of 332mph, while the P-40E does over 350mph, so the P-40B is a better match in the speed category.  In rate of climb the D.520 was in between the P-40B and P-40E, like the Hurricane Mk I.  The D.520's 20mm hizooka was drum fed like our current Spit5, so that means a 60 round capacity; the P-40E has a lot more firepower, whereas the P-40B's 4x30cal and 2x50cal armament seems to match the D.520 better.

The Panzer IV (that we have in the game) served in the battle of France, though the majority had a weaker main gun than our version.

I really enjoyed the map.  My only complaint would be how ridiculous the airfields look when you can see four or five of them so close.

Is the terrain simply scaled down but accurate?

Thanks for the map guys!  A+ really.
