Not sure what was going on with Bish in Blue
« on: December 15, 2008, 02:55:20 PM »
We were attacking 9 and all the while 52 was flashing (I think it was 52 on the west end of the island) We had uppers there so I didn't really worry too much. But still it bugged me. Finally our CO, Falcon23, went over there and drove a Werble to town. Then I upped along with my mates. There was a Mossie just tearing up that town. In fact he killed the last couple of buildings just before Falcon shot him down. Now what in the world were those Bish uppers doing. Were they just intent on milking the factory between 9 and 10, they seemed to be in buffs mostly? Were they there to give feedback to the town attackers? Were they there to just give the appearance that the base was being protected? Were they just that new to the game?  I never saw a call for help to that base and those guys flew right over the town. They would have had to see the Mossy.

Its been like that for some time now, a town will flash for some time and nobody will up to check it, after making my rounds to all the ones that are flashing I usually find a GV or inbound NOE and call for back up.

I don't know if its a influx of newbs that have no clue, or is it vets that don't care, or is it just the final effects of the quality of the game declining?

I'll defend a base but I generally don't care enough to check flashing bases, I'll go where a fight is already running or the dar bar shows a lot of air cons ib.

Its not just "bish" -- its the AH player base.

Lots care about defending/taking bases, but lots don't. Those who care are going to spread among bases under attack, and most won't look around till the one they're at is secure. When your side is low numbers, there will almost certainly be more under attack than you can effectively defend.

Add to that the reality that a good part of every country doesn't care all that much about who "wins the war" They generally aren't going to check out a flashing base unless they happen to be in the mood to kill GVs or whatever.

SO...

Save your anger, quench the frustration. It isn't the BIshes' (Or rooks or knights') fault, and they're not dimwitted. They just don't play for the same thing you do. Live and let live, etc.

BTW - I've noticed the very smartest of the capture crowd don't announce "Come on guys, we need help at a23. They're going to take the base!!" Instead, they say "FURBALL just east of A23!! Get in before it's over!"

People change, I used to be big with base taking with RT and what not, but as it went on, I got interested in other things. I think even the most  experienced squads at base taking want to do other things as like a 'phase' like furballing. OR, some squads who are mostly interested in furballing, take up base taking.

I can bet that it'll circle up again, and it'll be just the same as it was.
No one knows what the future may bring.

I seem to always be defending... It's like an itch when I see a base flashing, or cons ib on Dar. I also enjoy a good base take, but good dogfighting is what gets the heart pumping  :aok

I'm not angry nor am I frustrated nor do I call people names or make too quick of a judgment (And that is hard), well mostly I don't  :rofl

Besides this thread is really about courtesy to your countrymen, gaining an understand, and about something else. The something else will remain with me and my squaddies. Personally whatever it is that makes you enjoy the game is fine by me. I've done it all, Milkrun, HO, pick, furball, bomb, gv and capture bases. And like 1pluss says it will probably all circle back for any given individual.

Just for the record: I can pick with the best of them  :rofl Once ran my K/D up to 35 to 1 and finished #1 in that category. You know not one person said to me WTG Getback. Here I was fighting two spits and you picked me so cleanly in my Ju87. Just Awesome! Of course being the humble guy I am I didn't say "Owned"  :rofl :rofl :rofl

Now on the other hand, If I help take a base or lead a mission there is much appreciation and great appreciation from me for the leaders or for those who joined the mission. Well except for that shut up and sing part. Wait. No there was no sing part. I think it was just shut up.

I tend to think its the newbs.  Im not on for long lenths of time (back issues).  My Teenage boys fly a lot and mention it.  It all depends with me.  If im on only a few minutes I wont worry about checking bases.  The rest of the time im either defending or checking flashing bases.  Its just the nature of the beast I think.  Its one of my few ways to relax so I try not to get worked up to much, even when I get rammed 6 times in 6 flights and go down every time while the Rook flys off :furious  But im not bitter :lol  Its all good  <S>
In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC

When you see that Mosquito easing up on your 6 relax.  Its just me.
