Is within the rights of any parent to name their kid anything they want. If somebody doesnt like it then tought. When the kid comes of age, and if he wants to change it, its easily done. Its really none of our business what a parent names their kid.
I for one despise big government and its intrusion into our lives.
Unfortunately, the damage has already done when a child has come of age. A childhood full of ridicule, anger, rejections and personal attacks...
I personally despise "anything goes" parents that play the ego game with their kids.
Here in Germany there are a few rules what kind of first name you can give to your newborn:
- has to be clearly identifyable as a forename
- has to be clearly male or female (with a few traditional exceptions)
- is not allowed to violate the best interets of the child (for example by exposing the child to ridicule or by giving purely "evil" names)
- can't be a georaphical place
- can't me a title like "lord" or "princess"
Of course there is some room for interpretation, and thus there are a few lawsuits every year where disgruntled parents bring the decision of the
Standesamt not to register a certain name in front of a judge. And sometimes, they win.

There are still some kids with rather strange names out here, but names like "Adolf Hitle"r or "Aryan Nation" are be outright impossible. (But not Adolf as such!)
