First...
Nicklaus.

Second...
Fuzzy Zoeller is no more a "racist idiot" than he is an Oompa Loompa.

Professional and high level amateur golf are rich with tradition.  These traditions are bigger than any one man and that includes Tiger Woods.  If Tiger were unable or unwilling to continue to play professional golf there would be no damage to its luster.  While Tiger has certainly raised awareness and made golf "cool" thats a double edged sword.  Denim shorts, t-shirts and those that wear them are much less likely to know who Fred Couples, Paul Azinger, Lee Trevino, Sam Snead, Walter Hagan and Bobby Jones are much less anything they may have accomplished.

The Tiger/Jack thing is, and always will be a great debate.  Tiger will own all of Jacks records before it is all said and done... So......

I didnt say Fuzzy is a racist, I said if he wasn't, that comment sure made him look like he was, which it did.  And I have heard he is 1/3 Oompa Loompa.

I don't understand all of the dislike people who claim to be golf fans have for Tiger.  It reminds me of 10 years ago when people claimed they love Basketball but they hated M.J.  If you are a fan of something why would you not love to have the opportunity to enjoy watching the person who plays above and beyond the other people who are the best in the world?  It makes no sense to me, as a golfer, and fan of the game I find Tiger absolutely amazing.

I wasn't addressing a Jack/Tiger debate.  I mean his name isn't spelled Nicholas, Nickelas, Nickolas or however people decide to spell it.

Nobody, and I mean Nobody misspells Woods, so there!  J/K, sorry for the miscommunication, wasn't sure what you were saying.  I for one like Mr. Nicculaus

It's one thing to have a typing error.  It's another to not even know how to spell the mans name.  One over the other makes it much easier to not put much stock into the opinion of the person offering it.

So please tell me how long you have watched golf on TV and then tell me how long its been enjoyable to watch it on TV. Years ago I tried watching it through the tube and just could not visualize it but now I watch and I can get a feel for the whole course having never been near it. I think coverage is much better now.

It probally is better, hard to compare since all TV in general was different. I enjoyed it back then so that's all that really counts.  I do know one thing. All sports were better back then. No whinny over paid spoiled babies. Everything from baseball to auto racing had regular decent guys involved. No one was arrested for dog fighting or murder on a regular basis. Also the team you followed no matter whether baseball, football or basketball had the same guys every year. Oh Yah....... no steroids either.

Fuzzy will always be my favorite golfer, he can really deliver a one liner.
