Anyone know if a later model F6F came out with a bubble canopy, or at least better visibility on your six?

I actually looked at pictures of the F6F, and it seems like the canopy we have is the best the F6F ever had.

Slapshot's views are an improvement over what I had, and I understand what I was doing wrong.  The trick is not to torture yourself trying to minimize the amount of canopy that you see in your views, but rather to ensure that what is obstructed by canopy in one view is visible from another.

>> How many dedicated Hellcat sticks actually get blindsided, due to views, by a con they didn't know was in back of them

HT's minor patch fix did improve visibility a bit.  Factually speaking the F6F visibility remains abysmal.  This feature comes with the F6F it seems.  :lol  This is one plane where I wouldn't mind it NOT matching the real world plane with respect to its 6 visibility.

There was no bubble cockpit version of the Hellcat unfortunately. That improvement was reserved for its successor, the Bearcat. The first prototype of the F6F-5 did have a Spitfire-style Malcolm Hood fitted, but this never made it to production for some reason. In fact after the first 900 odd F6F-5s were built Grumman even deleted the rear side windows of the F6F-3, giving it even worse rear visibility.

Bingo ... one must move the F6F around more to see certain views than the previous rendition of the F6F.
