How about a fiendish device known for that very property.   It's called a <gasp> stereo system! If you put it in the very same room you are playing in and turn it on it might just play whatever tunes you want to listen to.

Thank you for that stunning piece of info, but when ya got a headset on, and the wife's watching TV, it's not conducive to playing music while flying.

I know one thing that might work. Use the Windoze CD Player to crank a CD while the game is running. Nothing better than having AC/DC cranked during a sortie

Please keep your inflamatory posts to yourself, thanks. I am asking a simple question, because i'd like to listen to rock and roll while i fly, unless you have something constructive to suggest, please refrain from attempting to create a flamewar here.

Thanks RAM, hadn't thought of using realplayer to play it, was only trying winamp, which doesn't work. Now i got it goin, and appreciate the Assist

Decoding of MP3s takes very little CPU power.

Hamish, you must have direct-x installed (you must cause you can play AH   ), and as part of that comes direct-sound. If you soundcard can handle it (and most modern, non-budget ones can) will let Direct sound manage up to 64 (i think) virtual channels of sound. So all you have to do is make sure that:
- Aces High uses Direct sound (it must as it has no problems with 3rd party stuff like roger wilco). That was easy.
- and your software mp3 player uses direct-sound. Most audio programs have a setting where you can select your 'output device'. Make sure you've select direct sound driver for your soundcard.

Then it should all work thanks to the marvels of direct-sound.

Hamish...I often use WinAMP to fly to the sounds of my entire AC/DC collection which I've converted to mp3.  The most important thing is that your sound card can play simultaneous wavs...if it can't, then you won't have luck with ANY player.  If you've got an ultra-cheap $20 sound card, then it probably won't work.  Fortunately, you can get an OEM SB Live! Value for around 50 bones.

I fly without problems, running AH (of course), WinAMP, and communicating over Roger Wilco.

Good Luck!
