Banshee it's not that far off-base. It's less gamey to avoid damage in the first place, than to take damage knowing that you have a 5min magic repair just a couple of miles away. And this repair couldn't realisticaly be implemented for the better of MA gameplay (the only place where this could fit in, since every other arena's less gamey, except for the DA and TA where there's no use for this at all), because it doesnt make sense to have it directly tied to field attrition. You'd have the guys steamrolling with repair enabled whereas guys on the short end of the stick would have their repair strat disabled.

Some good points here Moot, but also remember, when it comes to aircraft damage, for the most part it would be entirely too difficult for most to get the plane on the ground.  So I doubt it would effect so much that way......  And also from a wartime (gametime) side.... The pilot driving aircraft supplies is not currently shooting at you, neither is the pilot waiting for them.  So there is a certain amount of balancing that will go on.

And then this would give good reason to defend strats a little more..... Or at least Training starts.

For me I would prefer this to re arm pads.

So

  • Get rid re-arm pads
  • Allow aircraft supplies for rearm/refuel
  • Allow aircraft supplies for repair (over time as per above)

Then we can build our own landing strips.
Or convert Vehicle fields into landing strips for refueling/re arming
All we need is aircraft supplies close to flat ground at vehicle spawn points.

Aircraft supplies would only be available from fields with aircraft hangers. Vehicles would have to spawn them to elsewhere.

What about a vehicle that has to bring the supplies to the rearm pad and the vehicle driver gets perks for bringing them out. They take time for the repairs to be done based on damage extent? This will make making it back to base have a bit of meaning and might add a bit of fun to the guys doing the repairs while waiting for a squad to finish a mission and form up again.
