Microphone
« on: January 04, 2009, 09:47:33 AM »
Whenever I attempt to use the microphone by pressing f12 or t, it loggs me out of Aces High.  Any ideas on what might be happening?

That's a new one.  Best guess would be the sound card drivers.  Any chance you have more than one sound card installed in the computer?

If you have onboard sound and a sound card installed there could be an IRQ conflict. If so, you need to disable the onboard sound in your bios. Sometimes they share the same IRQ.

Possibly. Do you have a sound card. If so it is simple to disable onboard sound in your bios. If they share the same IRQ it sometimes causes a conflict. This may or may not be the problem but it is the easiest to troubleshoot.

Will the game even install without sound? I dont think so. Anyway I had a similar problem with early CMedia drivers for Vista (which sucked). So if you are on a Vista system then look for updated drivers. Before installing new drivers always remove and clean your system of previous versions.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

The game will install without a sound card, but it will not run without one.

If the game is getting you online, your computer already has a sound card.

I need to see the DXDIAG output.

Go to your Start Menu, Press Run. Type in: dxdiag

Now press OK. Afterward a new screen appears, let that application finish loading (Loading bar is on the bottom left.) After it finishes loading, press, "Save all information..." Now save the file to some place you can easily locate it, such as your desktop. After saving it head over to the location where you just saved the file and open it. Copy the first third (1/3) of the information inside the file and paste it in a response here.

That's your DxDiag.
