I was wondering why I benched 1500 lower with GTX280 from 2(512) 3870 cards crossfired?

Tomshardware.com shows exactly what you found: two 3870s in crossfire (CF) are a bit faster than one GTX280.

Exact components except I have 4GB of Mem (DDR2-1066) and an E8400.

I'm sure I'm around that.   Not to mention I have the KO edition 8800GTS.

Thats a real good score... you got a link to the ORB site so I can check out the drivers for that score?

lol FUGITIVE, What multiplier did you use for that score. Impossible and I will go to ORB to check it out!

Here is a screen shot from someone who had your processor OC'd to 3.6Ghz! I also gave you the doubt with a 640mb card.I think you bench 3DMARK06 at about 12,000-13,000 by the other scores I analyzed.

Man, does that take a while to download. From my experience if the norm is 12,000 (I have no idea of that) I will be in at 11900.  :rofl :rofl

Okay, ran it. Benched 10742. How and the heck are you guys getting those scores. I have an 8500 runing at 3.5 ghz with a Radeon ATI 3850 overclocked. What am I missing here? When it ran just the cpu tests it showed 0 to 3 fps. That surprised the heck out of me.

I dont believe some of the scores posted are true.  I have an almost identical system to a poster here and my processor is OC to 3.6GHz and FSB at 1600 and 8800GTX OCed and I can only get 12423 out of it.  Thats with all normal settings 1280 x 1024, not turning my video down to 800 x 600.  You can link to your scores like here is one of mine at 22k http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=9184755  again all normal settings so the score counts.  No one else has access to my score unless they copy it from here.

I have scores ranging from 11k up to 29k (not published, going for a top ten listing and not gonna give myself away)

Yea it does and Vantage is even slower.  You think your score is low in 3DMark06, try Vantage (FutureMark Corp also).  Here is a screen shot of system I just built for a client.  This systems score is within 70 some percent of the world record on their site and we havent started tweaking it yet.  Will it be good enough, no, I'm sorry to say but it will get pretty dang close.  Mid 80% of the record.

I run my monitor at 1920 x 1200. Does that have an effect?

Yes.  Most people quote the 3DMark06 at its default resolution of 1280x1024.  At higher resolution you'll get lower ratings.  Also, make sure you check your video card drivers settings to see if they are overriding AA or AF etc settings.  You want to select "Application Settings", or, to get maximum ratings, turn AA and AF off.  If you have your drivers set to force AA to say 4X you'll get a lower rating.

It's normal for the CPU test to appear glacially slow.

My results for 3GHz E8400, stock HD4850, 4G RAM are about 12,000
