if its just file transfer Ur after u could set up a ftp server on the machine (free ones out there). doing that u would have folder views and copy-paste then edit files on the PC u using.
some will say this is insecure but if u password the connection then change the port the ftp uses u would be fine.
ftp uses port 21(default) if u change it to something diffrent (65,000+ ports to choose from) u basically hide the ftp server from scanners.

Yes, you could use FTP, or you could use the encrypted connection of TeamViewer that will give you folder lists just like if you switched all of your computer's folder views to "List" in the right-click menu.

Indeed I did get a new girlfriend. Actually, I dated her a few months while Erika was off getting herself into trouble. Now that Erika's completely destroyed our relationship, I'm back with Jenny for as long as I can see. :)

Assuming you have both systems on line why not set up a VPN connection between them?

TeamViewer can manage a VPN for you as well. Although, I have no idea even what a VPN is, TeamViewer will do it.

Because I have no clue what a VPN is. I am completely clueless when it comes to computers.

Problem with googling VPN is without knowing what a VPN is, I wouldn't have known to look it up :D

Serenity,

How soon do you need to do this? I have a very busy schedule for the next 2@3 weeks, but if you can wait that long then I can get with you to work thru setting something up... but right now I just do not have the time.... PM me if you want to set-something up...
