We are all viewed as war criminals?
« on: January 19, 2009, 10:53:24 PM »
 :rofl

I just heard on Rachel Maddow's MS NBCshow that if we travel abroad we may be viewed as war criminals if we don't prosacute.

This sweety and Olberman are funnier than John Stewart and Colbert!

Americans: Do y'all agree with this sentiment?

Foreigners: What do you think?

Like some member of this board who picture all the Arab as terrorist, it's likely that some idiot of the same kind elsewhere will picture all American as bush follower.
Human nature I think

Well...this is a first   :O, but I definitely agree with Shuffler :aok

I will also take a side order of "If we did something some other country didn't like---but in the end it made another country free and allowed them to vote and have a democracy for maybe the first time---then maybe it's worth the lumps."   On a second plate, on the side, please.

I thought they already viewed us as war criminals. Hence the cut off heads on video. Airplanes into buildings. Old men in wheelchairs shot and thrown into oceans...ect...ect...ect.

This is what I want to do to myself when I hear, see, or (God forbid) think of Rachel Maddow

I seriously believe she is a hermaphrodite with some really messed up hormonal imbalance..  I wouldn't be surprised if she was on 20 different
anti-depressant/anti-psychotic medications to help her deal with herself..
I like classy, beautiful, intelligent woman that say the "F" word a lot....

Off topic but,

Talking about that, I was wondering how much USA owes to which foreign countries. I'm not sure I'm reading that right, but does that means that USA has the world's largest "foreign" debt? https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/rankorder/2079rank.html

... and that most of it is due to China and Japan? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_public_debt#Foreign_ownership
Foreign ownership
A traditional defense of the national debt is that Americans "owe the debt to themselves", but that is becoming increasingly less accurate. The US debt in the hands of foreign governments was 25% of the total in 2007[35], virtually double the 1988 figure of 13%.[36] Despite the declining willingness of foreign investors to continue investing in US-dollar–denominated instruments as the US Dollar has fallen in 2007,[37] the U.S. Treasury statistics indicate that, at the end of 2006, foreigners held 44% of federal debt held by the public.[38] About 66% of that 44% was held by the central banks of other countries, in particular the central banks of Japan and China. In total, lenders from Japan and China held 47% of the foreign-owned debt.[39] This exposure to potential financial or political risk should foreign banks stop buying Treasury securities or start selling them heavily was addressed in a recent report issued by the Bank of International Settlements which stated, "'Foreign investors in U.S. dollar assets have seen big losses measured in dollars, and still bigger ones measured in their own currency. While unlikely, indeed highly improbable for public sector investors, a sudden rush for the exits cannot be ruled out completely." [40]

In 2006, the central banks of Italy, Russia, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates announced they would reduce their dollar holdings slightly, with Sweden moving from a 90% dollar-based foreign reserve to 85%. [41] On May 20, 2007, Kuwait discontinued pegging its currency exclusively to the dollar, preferring to use the dollar in a basket of currencies.[42] Syria made a similar announcement on June 4, 2007.[43]

A list of the foreign owners of U.S. Treasury securities is listed by the U.S. Treasury:[

Too bad to see him out of office and the iranian nuclear facilities still standing. Bush was last hope to deal with them, i believe he would have bombed them but too many were against, only future will tell who was right and wrong. But now, nothing can stop them , we are going to see Hezbollah fanatics armed with nukes in next years; Obama looks weak, without experience and manipulated by those old sharks around him, Israel has no power to do it ,and those timid naive europeans politicians want to fight evil with pen, paper and UN resolutions.
