I was thinking the same thing on the other thread, Cit. I'll dive in on one of these in a heartbeat, if it doesn't have F3 view. If it does, forget it.

I wonder how they're going to set up 6 view, when they had those periscopes..
they dont have periscopes in tanks either
(tank commander does not have little peering holes)

like when u take a close up picture of ur car rear view mirror. What u see? You see very well behind you and the side of the picture is the mirror frame.

I don't see where the problem is. As for Cit question, I think it will have no external view, who will sure make the perkie pilot freack out

I don't imagine a periscope view, if modelled, would be much different (or more difficult) than the bombsite view we have now from F6.

Where's the controversy?

Jay.

Why does a crew of one determine if it gets an outside view or not?

Either way, one or two people, outside views are not normal (would love all F3s removed).  They don't "simultate" more than one eye on the sky...that's what gunner positions are for.  F3 views are simple game-the-game views.

The outside view is a tradeoff for planes that normally had several sets of eyes looking in several directions.

Fury.. in an actual 17 there would be comms stating where the cons are.  If there were no F3 view in the buffs the pilot would have to leave the wheel, run to say the top turret take a look, then run back to the cockpit..
In RL the gunner would just report over the intercomm, permitting the pilot to keep an eye on his aircraft..

F3 is a decent compromise IMO

Fishu, maybe Finnish tanks don't have periscopes, our sure do, aside from that,it shouldn't need an external view, anything behind it is gonna stay behind it, a looong way behind it, (until a 51H or something shows up)
