Thoughts on this? My opinion is simply that we've become more me than we. It's a shame, really.
My thoughts are that it's a moderately funny, grossly exaggerated joke.
To each his own...
If you're going to take it seriously, though...
At least where I go to school, this is what actually happens for Scenario #6:
Scenario 6:
Pedro fails 10th Grade English.
1957 - Pedro goes to summer school, passes English and goes to college.
2007 - Pedro retakes 10th grade. English courses cannot be taken in summer school and graduation requires 4 English credits.
#1 is just stupid, I don't know about most states but in PA I'm pretty sure it's illegal to hunt before sun rise, which happens to be around the time school starts. In any case, leaving your shotgun in the car in a parking lot where it can be stolen is irresponsible.
#2 is probably the most accurate, for 2007 at least, fights result in the police being called and assault charges. Expulsion is an exaggeration, though.
#3 Depends on age. Sounds pretty accurate for elementary, however in High School you're going to get detentions, ISS, OSS etc.. nothing different except the lack of physical punishment.
#4 is just an obscene exaggeration... funny though.
#5 why would you take aspirin to school, and why would you share it? Two advils last me until I get home when I have headaches...
#7- see #4
#8 it's discouraged but it happens anyway. No one cares and it doesn't get reported.
