My historical favorite is the Mosquito. Coolest plane ever built and most interesting history - both development and service, plus it served in the IAF (first single-model squardon).

I have a special place in my heart for the Hellcat. First plane model I have built when I was very young - too young to know anything about it. Got it as a present, built it like a puzzle and left it on the shelf as a useless dust collector. One day I suddenly became curious about what was this plastic plane that sits on my shelf - and so my interest in aviation was sparked.

In game I have more hours in the P47 than in all the other models combined. A typical American machine: brutal, massive and esthetically so tasteless and lacking in finesse, that it becomes beautiful again.
Mosquito VI - twice the spitfire, four times the ENY.

Love the P47.  She's a big girl but she knows how to work it.
In God we trust, all others we run through NCIC

When you see that Mosquito easing up on your 6 relax.  Its just me.

ok. what are ppls Favorite aircraft.

mine is the Spitfire.

i think it the most beautiful plane ever built. it looks the part.

even though the hurricane shot dowm more enemy aircraft the spit seem to capture the hearts of the british ppl in the battle of britain.

iv seen many of these fly when i lived on mainland england and you can't beat the sound of one of these sexy planes flying over.

so what are you're Favorite and if poss tell us all why?

Guvyer,

Totally agree with you   :aok  ;)

Even better is a whole wing of spitfires with your buddies cruising for a bruising.  With customised sounds to hear the roar of the merlin.  I'll never stop playing this game unless the lights go out.

FW190D and the Ta152H.

The Ta152 design was never finished still it performed spectacularly in the hands of experienced pilots. Aerodynamically neither was truly optimized for speed but looking at the engineering work both of these a/c are quite amazing, and it all began with the FW190A.

WTF are you talking about? That's just beautiful right there.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

For me during the WWII timeframe, it's absolutely the P-38. It's just a beautiful aircraft and doens't look like anything else out there.

Any Corsair, 'cept the -1 really sticks out in my heart. The birdcage just makes my plane feel sturdier, leading me to not care about the repercussions of my terrible flying. Plus, I went to an airshow, and there was a Corsair...the engine sounded whinier than I imagined, but when I saw it take off...wow, just wow. Although, the pilot did take a large take-off run.

Modern Era: F-14 Tomcat. First airplane I ever know, first one I ever loved.

i have to say, now this makes me sound old. they dont make them like they used to. the old prop aircraft where gorgeous and sounded amaizing.

the jet age dosent have the same feel. though the smell is still good around the airfields lol.

although if i was to pick a jet. the Dassault Rafale is a very sexy looking jet. along with the SR-71.
