Trim oddities

Okay, I've already posted something about this, but since I got no response, thought I'd try again.

P-47s-You can manually input full nose-down trim, but hitting the key to trim elevator nose-up does nothing.

P-51D, P-40E-You can only manually input about half the range of nose-down elevator trim. However, using the shift-X key in a dive, the combat trim will still input the full range of nose-down trim. And the manual nose-up trim key still does nothing.

Aileron and Rudder trim seems to be working normally. What is going on here though?

Will test more planes for these oddities.

Okay, just tested the A-20. Trying to trim nose down trims it nose up and the other elevator trimming command still does nothing.

Manual elevator trim doesn't seem to work at all with either A6M.

Edit: Same thing when I tried the 109E and K.

i've just embarked into the world of no combat trim.  only took 7 yrs.  i'm slow.  having more fun than i have in ages.  i'll give those planes a test to see what happens on my end.

do you notice the set trim command  .  working?  i "seem" to which causes me to question if it does or does not.  should be apparent, right?

I just tried it, it would let me run it all the trim all the way down on the P-38J manually but not back up. I've tried switching which keys I have set for trim inputs so it is apparently not a keyboard problem.

EDIT: I just noticed that on the P-38 and P-47, tapping the key once causes the trim to run all the way down. I tried setting a controller button to trim up and still does nothing.

It's something on your end.  There are no issues with manually trimming the P-38 and I've never experienced any issues with trimming any other plane to its full extent.

Bizzare. I can't imagine what it could be, since the keyboard is working normally,still inputs other commands (Including aileron and rudder trim) just fine, as does the control stick.

EDIT: Just tried turning off combat trim completely in preferences. The elevator trim runs to nose-down immediately when I spawn in a Jug.

So, anybody had this problem before, got any advice?

All trim functions definitely work in the k4.

It's something on your end for sure.

Edit: Same thing when I tried the 109E and K.

Definitely something on your end. I use trim for maneuvering on all 109's, especially the E and the K.
Not sure what the problem would be, though...

I have always used the rotaries on the x52 to trim the plane. I haven't noticed anything odd about any of the aircraft and how they behave. Is this a function of using "keyboard" trim?

Let me see if I understand what the issue is...you cannot fully trim either negative or positive trim using the keyboard?  Do you by any chance have any of the trim assigned to an axis?

Varies with different planes, oddly enough.
