want more fun out of the game?
« on: February 15, 2009, 10:31:29 AM »
I have played for since 2006 and combat flight sims since 1997....
1. Turn off 200...
2. When a guy PM's you keep the conversation to 2 reply if any.....
3. Find a good squad of people you like and use squad chat to play the game...

You will fly more, learn more about the game and have more fun....

I have read what seams to be an overwhelming part of this BBS being complaints about aircraft and people who play...

I know not everyone here is and expert on WWII but there are a lot of people here who are... so when you don't know much (and you know you don't) please take a deep breath and be an adult for just a moment and think read and learn b4 you run your mouth off like you have been reading up on the subject of WWII or this game for 15years...

Please just take the time it takes to discredit a player and use it to learn if your even right.

Common sense such as this is not permissible, nor will it be tolerated.

I used to think I knew a lot about WWII.  Then I discovered that I know a lot about some of the subjects and the war in an overview sense, and some of the folks on here know a LOT about a LOT and their knowledge dwarfs mine.  Good advice about learning from that type of poster.

I guess my post was to get some of the guys who seem to be bright enough to know better to take a deep breath and think b4 ranting...
and secondly to make guys aware of the fact that simply turning off 200 and not talking to the enemy is makes (for me at least) a much better game experience...

a lot of time my squad m8's will say "so and so just called you a hack" or "he said that was a pure luck shot" and ill joke with my m8's and usually say "tell him i don't read 200" witch is the end of the conversation.

1. Being friends With the enemy Stops animosity in the game.
2. I have been reading about WW2 For almost 6 years
3. Coming on this game and not having the slightest idea is a very rare thing seeing as you need to be interested in WW2 b4 playing

and 4 squad is a great way to make friends and have fun but You need to talk to every1 to learn stuff about the game.

I have been in AH2 for a year and im still learning alot of things Like stall limiter throttle control and knowing my plane

So three rules apply.

1 talk to every1
2 Play with every1
3 listen to what people have to say

AND THEN KILL them :)

Yup couldnt agree more with not tuning to 200, if i have it off i usually have a pretty stress free night but if i have it on im usually in an argument with someone. I keep it off these days  :salute

I've played the game off and on for more years than I want to admit.
for the most part I've enjoyed doing it. I,ve quit a few times and swore to never return. In a way it is a lot like IRC chat in the old days. People who hosted chat rooms (Squad Leaders) worked very hard at it and eventually burned out, some members stayed and some didn't. I have found that the 3 different countries have over time have developed unique characteristics.
1.  Knights best country if you want to have fun but are not into squads, also most likely to help your game play if you ask.
2.  Rooks best country if you want to explore the squad experience, they also seem to complain about the game more than the other 2
3. Bishops best country for furballing.

to enjoy the game forget your score and switch sides every so often, experience it all.

1. Turn off 200...

Roger that.  The last time I had 200 up, all that was on it was whines, failed attempts at taunts and invitations to purse fights.

2. When a guy PM's you keep the conversation to 2 reply if any.....

PMs are even better   PM complaints are the pinnacle of whines.  The last good one I got, some schmuck got himself shot in the face and PM'd me with a "HOtard" :rofl.   I sent:  "Don't fly into my guns and you won't get shot".   Kinda crazy when you think of it, put your plane directly into my gunsights and then complain when you find yourself in the tower.

The bottom line is HAVE FUN.  Its a game.  Games are supposed to be fun.  But keep in mind that like any other game, someone has to win and someone has to lose.  What makes the game fun is how the winner takes winning and how the loser takes losing.

If you win, don't gloat because you will surely one day end up squarely in someones' gunsight and nothing in this game is funnier than watching a hotshot end up in the tower, which will likely end in some tears being squirted.

And if you lose, learn from it.  If you are having trouble, most people here are willing to help out any way they can.
