Hello Fugitive,

Like yourself and many others I am very concerned about the health of the game and it's associated community.  The last few months have seen many posts about gameplay and player behavior going downhill.  It is my feeling that not all of the "downhill" things are lack of ACM training, or flying in a horde, NOE's, etc.  Some of the problems are found in the way folks interact within the game and on the boards.  I thought I had identified something that was a source of unhealthy player behavior in both veteran and new pilots alike.  Obviously by the posts so far, I must be wrong.  It was a sincere effort to put forth an idea that may have shut down some of the less desirable interactions within Aces High, hopefully improving the atmosphere within the game and community.  I sincerely appreciate all who have responded.

Have a great day,

Way

I see what your saying, but I don't think removing it would help, more than it would hurt. Too many people use it correctly and enjoy it. There is a bit more crap these days over what we use to have. "Smack talking" and taunting" an enemy has always been in the game....even "Tokyo Rose" used it tho I'm sure I'll get jumped on for bringing in WWII !  :D Maybe  a better policing of the channel would be in order. I know the mods do what they can, but are they doing enough? I don't know what guidelines HTC gives their mods so I don't know if they are following them to the letter and HTC is too easy on the community, or if they are not as heavy handed as HTC wishes them to be. Either way, I believe that we could do with a bit of "toning down" in the verbal assault in the MA's.

Taking away channel 200 because there is a problem is like taking away the spit 16's  :devil

Going to put it as simple as i can.

When you take the pig pen away from the pigs, they will just want to come inside.
At least the smack talk and such is KEPT on 200, and hardly flows over to Country chat, also making it easy to monitor.

Let 200 stay so the pigs have a place to play. :salute

dont like it dont tune it simple
police yourself if you cant handle it
ht disabled channel all and made 200
200 is a channel that has to be tuned thus by tunning it you except the terms of reading something
you may not like

The best you can come up with are 'guidelines'.. which, by definition, invites a whole culture of twits that seem to go out of their way to define where the limits of such guidelines are.  Almost like a game within a game.

as is the retaliation, but in general 200 is entertaining and I have met pilots who live nearby
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

Dear HTC,

For the good of the community please consider deactivating channel 200 as it would definitely limit some of the strife we see in game and on the BBS.

Sincerely,

Way

I don't see what your trying to get to here. Yes there is garbage on 200 but its never going to go away, both the garbage or the cross country channel. There are bad drivers on the road, did you write congressmen? In all things you have to take the good with the bad. HTC gives you the option to NOT tune so you don't even have to take the "bad". Too many people still use it as a way to talk with their friends and talk over fights with the enemy. Maybe some day when the crap that bubbles up now and then is the norm and people no longer use it to just chat then maybe you should post the wish then.
Thats almost like saying, there is corruption in the government but its never gunna go away, Its the job of the community to listen to wishlists not bash people when they come up with an idea, personally I think there has to be a cross country channel but I do think 200 is not moderated enough, I dont think a noob (bomber421 or whatever he was) calling someone out for switching sides should be allowed, so I vote that strict punishments be set on people who critize peoples gameplay in a harsh manner.

HO tards, country hopping, horde tards all of these should get people muted in my opinion :salute

and the worm turns full circle................

Channel 1 is now set to "Off" in the MA's.  Channel 200 is a channel of choice as is any channel between 200 to 300. (or is it 200 to 400?)

If you dont like it switch it off..............

If folk wish to bring their playground politics, perverted views and general smack head talk onto 200 or on the BB you are empowered to ignore it and mods may "scrutinize such input" with a view toward the contributers long/short term participation in the game.

Responsibility still lies with the abuser even if the "system" allows such abuse. Get rid of the abuser and the "system" can be enjoyed by nonabusers.

LOL!!! Thats what government is all about! Didn't they teach you history, yes there will ALWAYS be corruption in government.

I didn't "bash" the OP, I asked for clarification. Basically the OP doesn't want 200 to go away, he'd like it cleaned up. His idea was that all the "negativity" flowing back and forth was part of what is taking the fun out of the game, much like some believe vulching does, or hording. He was just suggesting HTC do away with another he thinks is ruining the game. My guess is he like the cross communication, but doesn't like all the BS that flys across at times.
