AH Film viewer and films on a flash drive
« on: February 28, 2009, 12:04:18 AM »
Four questions;

1. Is there a way to have the AH films automatically copy to a flash drive or save to a flash drive (or any other destination) instead of the film directory within the game installation area?

2. Is there a way to run just the AH film viewer off of a flash drive? I want to be able to view films at work and I don't think they would be too excited to see AH installed.

(#3 is much like #1)

3. If I was to install AH on to a solid state drive, is there a way to have any screenshots or flms save on to different harddrive? If I was to do this, would I see any performance boosts?

4. Can I install AH on to a flash drive and bring it from computer to computer?

1. Don't know.
2. Don't know.
3. Don't know.
4. Yes.   :D

When I went on vacation, I copied my AH2 folder to a flash drive and ran it from there on my laptop.  Didn't need to install anything.

Ok, will there be a plan to implement #1 and #3?

I want to do #4 so I can record my films and watch them at a later date, probably at work where a hard drive installation of the AH film viewer would be frowned upon.

I wouldn't have to do it if I can just the film viewer to the flash drive.

I think I might need Skuzzy to look at this thread, someone throw up the spotlight with the Skuzzy signal on it.

Should be easy enough to test, DL it and try to install it on the flash drive. If it installs, try to run the film viewer. If it runs start saving films.

Hello...can anyone read this?  Did everyone .forumsquelch ImADot?   :noid

I posted the first reply and said you can copy the AH2 folder to a flash drive and run it from there.  I've done it and it works.

I'm sure the answer is no. I've never seen any place that has a setting that you can use to change "where" the films are saved to. Until recently they didn't even let you name them.

If, like ImaDot says you can run the game off a flash drive then yes you can run the film viewer off the flash drive. You can not take ONLY the film viewer as that uses the game engine to run the films so you need both.

Like 31 I'm sure you can note do it. The only performance boost you might see is that little "pause" when you hit the capture key or the start film key. Tho now that I think about it, you would most likely still run into it as the same actions are happening, just on a different drive.

4. Can I install AH on to a flash drive and bring it from computer to computer?

According to ImaDot you can.
