I would get with a trainer, if the problem was just that I haven't learned/mastered dogfighting. I read up on ACM's and dogfighting alot when I first started playing AHII, and did extremly well. Then last year I started seeing a Therapist because I was loosing track of large amounts of time. I wouldn't be able to remember anything from the day before or anything before that onto what I can only call as indefinate! My therapist thinks this may all be related to a concussion I received while playing Ice Hockey (other contributing factor is when I fell down the steps and knocked out when I was 4). To make a long story short, basically my long term memory is fine, but my short term memory is all screwed up. So, learning ANYTHING is extremley tough since I will most likely forget it in about 12 hours.

On top of ALL that! I could possibly have dyslexia, and I believe I might have some form of A.D.D. as well. We were going get me tested to see if I have A.D.D. or dsylexia tommorrow, but that's been moved to April possibly.

That's why I'm pretty much fed up with trying anymore. Even right now, I have completley forgotten what I was just doing. Typed that last sentence and my mind went blank. So, simply flying with a trainer (even though they are some of the best teachers you will find) it would probably be useless.
think of AH as therapy, you don't have to be good to enjoy it. I completely suck and I have a great time.
No thank you Turkish, I'm sweet enough.

First off without confidence even the best stick is going to die every sortie.

Second, obviously a change is in order someplace. Where and how are up to you.

Third, with AH its not about "arriving" at a destination, or skill level, its all about the journey.
If your not having fun anymore, you need to get off the path your on, find a new one.

Fourth, if you havn't figured all this out by now, probably a good time to take a break.
We'll see you when you get back, most of this bunch isn't going anywhere.

Kind of like when I got married and stopped going to the bar every friday night.
Went back once 5 years later just to see who's there. All the same people sitting in the exact same place, doing the exact same thing, talking about the exact same stuff they were talking about when I left.

So walk away, enjoy your summer, when you get the itch to come back try something different.

I've been here a year, but my talent is not any better.  However, there are two things that have dramatically improved my results:

Patience and more patience.

Just when you think you are ready and want to dive in, dont.  Wait the extra few seconds and get an even better position on the enemy.

Latrobe's fighter stats from last tour:

Kills per Death + 1     1.30    1005
Kills per Sortie    1.18    539
Kills per Hour of Flight    5.90    730
Kills Hit Percentage    5.27    1372
Kill Points    261.33    4112

Now, I know stats hardly give us the whole picture, but yours are far better than average.  You even meet master Zazen's criteria of effectiveness.

Perhaps you're being too hard on yourself?

The others are right.  You don't play enough.  Just a little more than two hours in a month? :uhoh

Latrobe, I'm no doctor, but I've heard that that can be a sign of epilepsy - you should ask about that.  Also, what sort of doctor is your therapist?  IMHO you ought to see a second doctor just to get two opinions.

Man I've had multiple concussions from playing football and some times my short term memory blow's but it's small things. Like where I put my keys or wallet when I get home, getting the mail or forgetting to pick something up from the store. I would assume with a concussion that bad you have already had Catscan's and MRI's but I'd be requesting another look.

It's coming to light that a number of professional NFL players have suffered severe mental degradation in middle age as a result of the sport.

Not sure why I'm still logging onto AHII. In no way am I getting better, or ever will, and I'm just flat out getting worse everytime I log in. Thought I got as bad as I was going to get a couple times already, but each time I still some how kept getting worse. Now I'm just logging in once every few weeks (not sure why?) and going up on 1-2 sorties just to die to the first plane I see. There's no reason to keep playing anymore, other than padding other peoples scores, so I'm just gonna cut the subscription.

I got the same problem . Severe head trauma here dewd . Was told I probably would never walk or talk again . Let me give you a hint . Write it down . Take notes , lots of them . BTW my neurologist loves this game . You can't never tell yourself you can't . Let them tell you that . For all you who have never dealt with this very frustrating condition , and jumping on him ,calling him a pity seeker . Well I pity you . You seem to me to be trying to show how strong you are . There is a name for people who show how strong they are by pointing out percieved weakness in others . It's weakling . Caspar milquetoast wouldn't bust a crayon in a kiddiegarten riot weak .
