Do countries differ as much as you think they do?
« on: March 02, 2009, 08:35:07 PM »
I know that many people think of countries differently. Is this true? For example the Rooks as Alt potatos and the Bishops taking alot of bases and the Knights that cant seem to win the war?

Is the grass really greener on the other side?

There may be some more standout base taking squads as Bish, but ultimately, no, each country flies the same.  Each country has armchair generals on range so if you are looking for a chess piece to stay with permanently (which I would not recommend), hang around the big fights and see which countrymen on range annoy you the least.  There's your winner!

Nope....I've never flown bish...but I have flown rooks. Basically rooks and knights and I assume bish...all the same.

I say this question misses the point.  It doesn't matter if countries do follow some trends.  Those trends are as fluid as fish in water. You just have to poke at them for them to change.

flew knights from the time i subscribed until last summer when my old squad went on tour. Left said squad as a rook and have stayed there since. They are all the same. I seem to get more check 6s from rooks but other than that its all gravy.

You know, it's funny.  If you had asked me a month ago I would've flat out said "No, all the countries are the same," but recently I have noticed subtle differences in countries.  Now I don't know if it's just what individual sticks or squads have settled on each team, but I definitely notice that when fighting rooks, they routinely come in at 15k (not all of them, but a good number).  I'm not saying every rook is a runner, but it seems that when you get some to blow their E, they tend to dive away.  I like fighting the knights the best, they may not take bases but they sure do like to furball it seems, and I'm always all-for a good furball.

If you think about it, it would seem to make sense that each country would be slightly different.  It's really hard to get away from the mob mentality (yes, even in a video game); when you see your friendlies doing it, you tend to want to do it as well.  Plus, the new players will ask teammates for advice, so the team's flying style gets passed on more-or-less.

Being a bishop I tend to see a lot of missions (seems to be less being posted as of late, now that I think about it) and usually a pretty good furball going most of the time.  I've also noticed we get vulture parties going on a pretty regular basis.
I'm Sector95 in-game! :-D

I've posted it before but there are rules to be an arm chair general.

1. YOU MUST USE CAPS FOR EVERYTHING ON CHANNEL 2!

2. You must alternate between exclamation marks (!) and one digits (1) at the end of every sentence!!!!111!!!

3. You must forego the use of the S keyz and use Z keyz instead.

4. You must repeat everything twice.

4. You must repeat everything twice.

5. You must know that any difficulty can be solved by adding another 30 guys to your NOE mission. Continue to use caps to announce your mission on channel 2 until you get the number needed.

Seems to me the more recognized people can get help out of anyone. Ghi and J0ker and Busher or Falcon23 have big followings and get good response when setting up missions or asking for help at defending a base. I like to lone wolf and start trouble on my own so no one steals my kills...  :D but I do join in sometimes.

Your all going to die!  (squad motto) :devil
