This is true, just don't make a big stink out of it, otherwise right or wrong you could come out looking worse  :salute

And if its team play you want, find a squad, if its squad play you want, find a squad who works well with other squads.

He also likes to post in that forum that JunkyII posted about in the general discussion forums that was locked due to the nature of the topic.  If you know what thread I am talking about then you'll know what forum it is that drdeathx also likes to visit and post in.  Not that I had an ounce of respect for the guy to begin with but my opinion is now far lower of him than it was after finding out he likes to use certain programs when playing AH.

This shades accusation is ridiculous  :noid  It has no place here.  I see the only ones that need shades are the ones who are so paranoid    they somehow believe that cloak and dagger is needed on the BBS  :rofl

If you just want Skuzzy to put a lock on the thread to somehow satisfy what you think is a viable "wish", then you may well be on your way in doing so.  I personally think he has much more important things to do than wiping the noses of those who can't contain their petty mucous.

thats what the people who fought in viet nam will tell you too... look what happen there
Vietnam was no game, don't be a dingleberry. Sheesh the people that use historic events to make a point about this game.

If you enjoy the time you spend playing you've won the game. If you expect everyone to do what you want them to...
Better find another game becuase you'll never win.

Shifty,

I am surprised that you are joining your squadmate FYB in name calling.  I have always had the deepest respect for you.

I am sure that many veterans have some ill feeling about our cartoon amusement about WWII, also.  Having said that, anyone who returned from Nam and those who fought and made the ultimate sacrifice there, are victors.  The lessons learned there should serve our country well.  The only comparison to this cartoon simulation, is that strategy is applied in both. :salute

I love the war setting

gives me alot of targets

I love the freedom of the main, when I take off in a plane of my choice, I am free to engage any object in the arena in whatever style that is programmed

I may live or die in a sortie but at least am not forced to fly anyone's way except those allowed by HTC in this simulated war that is the main arenas

if you want to personally fly to support the war effort of your simulated country  HTC gives you the freedom to do so

but alot of people prefer to fly for air combat that has nothing to do with a big picture but instead focus on the beauty of air combat

and from my personal experience I don't find anything more fun and thrilling then closing with a single enemy aircraft and nearly twisting my arm off in a complex and a exciting dance of WW2 Aircraft trying to manipulate there chosen machine to win that moment of combat

don't get me wrong I sometimes love to support my simulated country but like many I just enjoy the freedom of flying my own way without worrying about a big picture and reasonability of supporting my simulated country

if I want to face people and dogfight I fly aces high

if I want to effect a war I fly Falcon 4

point is alot of us enjoy the fights that the war creates but could care less about the outcome of the simulated war that just gets reset all over again

I fly mostly bish and I could care less if they lost every war from now on

its about all the kinds of different fights I get into that matter to me

just what I think about this whole main war stuff

Chilli, I've had the same BBS handle since April 2002 and never found it necessary to lower myself to acquire another one.

It has every place in here.

Comparing what happens in real war to this game is the ultimate in being misguided and over the top drama.
There is no comparison, there should be no comparison. Including comparing strategy.
Nobody dies, nothing is destroyed for good, each side has the same weapons and vehicles available.
It's a game it's nothing more than a large multiplayer Risk game for those that want to play war. So quit kidding yourself about strategy.
The strategy if you want to call it that is to overwhelm with numbers. That's what the guy wants more numbers so he can WIN THE GAME!

Each customer is free to enjoy the sim in whatever fashion they wish be it GV, Fighter, Bomber, or Ship.
They are free to fight for the sake of the air combat or GV combat or fight the war. That's it. It has nothing to do with Vietnam. News flash it has nothing to do with WWII.
It just uses WWII equipment. Just like all the guys that call themselves pilots because they fly in this game but not in real life. It's all a joke, it's make believe, it's just a game period. Get over it already.
Another thing telling somebody not to make a dingleberry out of themself is not calling them one. So don't be a dingleberry. ;)
