Whoa timeout!! Did you say Lars from Metallica??? He has struggled way too much with timing. Hes a good drummer, as he manages to find a matching beat to the music, but really- have you seen any of his live performances? I think youd have a differing opinion afterwards...

Neil doesn't use the double bass drum, the other is for show.  I've yet to hear him use one since he joined Rush.   Without Max Roach as a springboard, Neil never would have been where he is today.   Even parts of his drum solo are nods to Max.

Lars is an ego-maniac (like the rest in that band) that is far from good, FAR.

All you Moon fanboys calm down :rofl I never said he had bad timing, I said he was not a great time keeper. What I meant was he was very loose with his playing. When he would play alot of those big fills his tempo would start jumping all over the place and Entwistle would pull him back.  Not a big deal, a lot of drummers do it including myself. My point was the great ones dont have that problem.

Ohh and Lars Sucks

Masherbrum, on the beginning of the thread, click on the youtube link that which I provided. Neil Peart uses a LOT of double bass throughout the second half of his performance.

Yes.   He wouldn't make the Top 40 on a list by anyone who has gone behind a kit.
