Make sure to learn to view the battle in three dimensions. Most common mistake new pilots make is that they fly two dimensionaly. Pilots who use flat turns get eaten alive out there.

Visit the Trainers and find a vet that will do some DA 1v1 training with you and you will improve sooo much.

On another note.... I never would have imagined that the pilot would be so vulnerable to blackout in a hard banking turn. I spend waaaaaaaaaay too much time with the screen black.

welcome to your new addiction, couple things you should think about, when I first started in AH in 03, I flew exclusively for the Bish I did that for over four years, once I decided to check out the other countries it was like a whole new game. so I would suggest not to stay on one country, fly for all, its good to log in and go to the country with the lowest numbers this way you can be sure to find a fight, dont worry about the small percent of people that may call you a spy 

the game is about the fight no matter what you are in, plane or GV

it's funner to fight the red guys for your killz then the green guys

WOW! I love the P38! I've worked my way around the different planes, from the Spitfires, Mustangs, P47D, Typhoon, Yak..... and hopped into the Lightning this morning. WOW! Awesome bird! Got shot down a few times, but BnZ is easier with the speed of the P38, and gosh darn it I loves me some cannon to go along with those .50's! Shot down a couple of bombers, a couple of fighters, and at least 2 assists on other birds. Just gotta resist the urge to try and turn with those smaller planes! A couple of you hotshots were putting holes in me like it was going out of style!! Some guy in a Hurrican I think killed me 4 or 5 times in a row!

Damn.... I'm hooked.

Yeh, I have to get better at resisting the "turn & burn" horizontal fight..... I've successfully taken the fight vertical a couple of times and managed to get guys off my 6, and the TrackIR helps with that a lot, keeping my focus on where the bogie is, but SA is still owning me when I'm craning my neck back to see the guy coming around on me only to realize I'm way too fast and too low to pull it out of the dive and slap it into the ground flat on its belly at eleventybillion miles per hour.

Sounds like you're coming along nicely.    And don't underestimate the turning ability of the P-38. It can outturn a lot of those smaller planes.
