The biggest problem with the perk system is that there isn't enough stuff to spend your perks on...  I'm a pretty poor pilot, but even I have enough perks banked to fly an entire tour in perked planes.

Then do it. Can be quite a fun. Did a 262 tour once to get rid of 4000 fighter perks :D

I have more than 35k perks and there is quite a few guys that have more than I do.

They need to make perks drop to zero upon your credit card being billed, this way everyone would be on a different timer during the month. It would also have the added benefit of encouraging higher ENY aircraft to be flown to be able to accrue enough perks to get that 262 ride during the month.

It suggestion could be a little hard on the newbies but having a goal (beyond self improvement) in AH is lacking.

It's pretty hard on newbies & casual flyers (= majority of AH players). Most of them won't ever get to fly a 262, maybe a Tempest once when they get lucky... while players with a lack of life like me would not be hampered that much.

I have been here for a few years now, and I find the game pretty much perfect, one of the changes, I would like to see is the perks, I think all planes should have a perk value, even the early war rides. ( this would include GV's)
when you start your two free weeks, all planes/GV's are free of a perk value so you can get a chance to fly all of them, when your two weeks are over and you subscribe you receive a certain number of perks, maybe it could be determined on your performance during your two week trial? with a set min and max perks awarded?
or just a set number, that every one receives when they subscribe,

so say when you run out of perks there should be an arena, "P.E.A.", to earn perk points by doing certain missions that are set up with objectives and goals, (a good use of AI)

now this would get the new guys doing training exercise's, and help them to learn how to fight and survive in the MA's, and all other aspects of AH.

depending on how well you do in the mission's, will depend on how many perks earned, once you do the particular mission you are running, perfect you cant do them over again until your perk value is at zero.

just an idea

INK
+5 on the rictor scale :D This would definately make fights alot more interesting, more like the SEA because people would use more team tactics and less suicide bombings and ho. To add to your idea at the end of each tour maybe give everyone say 25 perks or so to keep the new guys around more :salute INK great idea

I dont like the idea of being forced to go to a differnt arena and fight drones just to be allowed to fly in the MA, the way I fly (fighting teh hord) I would be out of points and be stuck in this other arena all the time. I see your reasoning but id rather not.

they would not be "drones" like it is in offline, they would be AI like the offline missions,
Have you tried those yet? rangers winter mission is awesome and totally would give noobs a head start if they had to fly it. and if you truly are fighting the hourde this would be good for you.

the first two weeks they could fly any plane, take up that 262 or typh, have a blast, or whatever was a low ENY,
it would give the new guys a reason to want to go earn perks and to get better at fighting,
especially if the multipliers could take into account the the planes around you, in other words if you are one of 5 green guys on one con you would only get a 1/5 of the perks, on the other hand if you were the one con fighting 5, and you killed one of them, or all of them, you would get 5 times the amount of perks
I just used those numbers as an example, I have no idea what they would or could be.

I also think all the planes would need to be reconfigured for values
such as the spit 16- should be the lowest tier same as tempest,

I have no clue on how to go about that though

thanx for the responses for and against :aok

I am,I think the spit is just as deadly, what the spit lacks in speed (high) it has an advantage in low speed maneuverability,
maybe the one thing that the typh is above, is guns, they are seriously above the spits guns.  so ya I guess the typh should be a bit higher but not by much.
