I really don't get all of the analyzing and hypothetical questions concerning this.

Maybe it's because I grew up in the south where parents taught their children to do right, or you got a belt on your backside, not put em in a "time out".

Thats what is wrong with society today.  Too many time outs and not enough on-the-spot corrections.

Some d-bag grows up wrong, tries to rob a store and victimize a hard working citizen, gets corrected on the spot and suddenly HE'S the victim

Regardless of how you look at it, the clerk did that dude a favor.  A good @*$ whipping will make you do better! :aok

Boy...hahahaha, thats a mouthful. Every individual right you have crumbling under the weight of one sentence. I hear that the Jews and communists who were caught by the Nazis for starting the Reichstag fire back in the '30s were "caught red handed". No doubt the beatings administered were justice too. Want more? History is filled with them.

You see this is how it begins. It all starts with everybody meaning well and feeling all righteous. It begins with the exceptions made.

And no Anodizer. 9/10'th of the time we wont tell the shop owner what to say. Thats against the law too and why would we risk our jobs to protect some nitwit who decided his need for payback was more important then being lawful?

Yeah I just watched the entire thing. The last two kicks, after the store guy took off his jacket and before he dragged the offender out of the camera view?? These kicks were purely unlawful and couldnt be justified. This store owner would have bee arrested as well.

Then you are the other tenth that wouldn't give the good guy a little help to stay out of trouble for doing the right thing...  I know lots of cops that welcome this sort of thing..  Makes their jobs easier... :D

Chances are this kid will do/did 6 months, max...  Or he may be sentenced to a year and get out after 30 days on a judicial order and placed on probation..  The only thing the justice system is worried about is money..  The kid gets a D.O.C. number..  The dept. of corrections gets its money..  And violla, joey douchbag thug wanna be gets out early...  With jail/prison over crowding, this stuff is not a priority for the actual justice system..  Maybe it is for you cops, but when it gets down to it, this stuff is petty..  Basically, when the system gets a hold of him, he'll do little time and go out and do the same thing after he finds out he's a looser and will never have a viable life or a viable job..  He'll try to rob/shoplift/steal again...  But he won't do it at this guy's store.....  :)

One last thing..  "Lawful" is a broad term...  The "Law" is pliable like silly puddy...  People who execute the "law" have discretion....  Just like the good cops who'd see this for what it was
and wouldn't purposefully try to get the shop employee/owner in trouble...

It sounds like you'd be the kind of cop that would...  Shame on you...

Anodizer with the tripe you serve up in this forum I could just picture you on your back, spittling all over yourself, begging for mercy, promising mommie you'll be better. Nobody who babbles nonsense like you could possibly, actually be a man too.

Another cop expert wearing a turd costume.

Well, this thread's toast.

Anyway back to the original video... As much as I enjoy seeing citizens defend themselves, I'm much more concerned for the shop keeper's saftey than anyone else.  I've known of or seen too many revenge hits by scared kids who got beat up once.  They (or more often their family) come back later with a gun and get back Mr. I-used-to-be-thug-money-now-my-face-is-broken's "honor."  This more than anything else is why you have to be careful about how you "defend" yourself.

Also, someone get the guy taping the tape a friggin steady cam.

When that kid was knocking stuff over, he must have knocked open a can of "whoopass", cause he got it all over himself.

LOL! Funny stuff Dago.  The extra beating is probably due to the guy being pissed from having his wife subject to this druggies/drunks onslaught and his hard earned money being potentially wasted by an unproductive loser.  Hard to hold back your emotions in this sort of situation.  There may be other factors for this that we cant see.  Also, drugged out and drunk freaks take a lot more beating before they're down because they don't feel the pain.  If the guy took out a bat and started wailing on him after he was down and stayed down, that may be excessive but I wouldn't prosecute him.

Strange how the "security camera" pans around like a hand-held.  Doesn't seem very efficient to have someone holding it all the time.

 :noid

wrongway

The video IS someone with a handheld taking a video of video that was taped from a static T/Z video camera console.  When they pan right, you can see the video console panel controls.

"thats right he hasnt been convicted of nothing"

I just have to shake my head on this. This is the problem with society today. No he has not been convicted... but if you watch the film you'll know, as did the owner, that this is the guy that did the crime. I have to laugh at the news folks saying the alleged culprit when showing a film of the guy doing the crime. A society lead by weak minded lawyers.

You come to my home or business and you'll get the same treatment. Folks that know that will think twice and go to your home or business instead.

If the news people don't state the fact that the crime is alleged then they could all too easily sway a jury into forming an opinion as to the guilt of the suspect before a trial can be had. That is a basic constitutional right, the right of a fair and speedy trial, that should never be compromised even when trying to denigrate the evil lawyers.
