You sure hold a grudge (crudge? hehe..) for a long time, I haven't flown since 2004!

Come to think of it, I doubt it was me. I couldn't hit your M3 with a bomb even if you were the bombtruck  :huh

As Wrongway hansomely put it, bombs
If you drop smoke near your target (I assume GV?), it requires a friendly player to attack your target. Since friendlies are always miles away, I'd rather take bombs instead of smoke!

sure, but it would be nice to have the option. plus you still have to be almost within flak range to see the craters.

btw which fighters/attack aircraft carried flares? I know the mossie did in pathfinder role.

No, it was you. Just after you finished flying a spitfire for a few minutes (You advertised it on the old Free Multiplayer forums).

no u can't i know that one bud

I wouldn't spread bad info like that in the forum -

<SHIFT> + f4 = ground vis range. Basically a lot of the detail is eliminated from your view of the ground and GV's show up as a rather obvious black dot about the size of a pinhead. No icons though until you are around 600-900 out....someone may be along to correct me on the icon distance.

Actually, since they "fixed" Shift + F4, ALL the ground detail shows up.  Trees, building, blades of grass  ;)
It does away with anything beyond a certain distance.  It's like Shift + F3 but with all the trees.

It sure isn't a benefit to frame rates any more like it was when it was exploitable.

Haha oh yes now I remember, it was the one time I flew a spitfire  :lol
I recall having all of them disabled in my room!

Good memory Den  :aok

Yeah but, a bomb kills your target, a flare doesn't. As such, you only have to enter flak-range ONCE (provided you killed your target with the bomb) instead of having to send in another player.

Maybe that's why I rarely flew in your arenas.... ;)

It would be a cool option, but the dweebery applications of this would be off the scale.  It truly is easier to mark GV's with guns or the ultimate Sharpie: a 1000 lb bomb.

I usually like to mark Wirbles with my flaming wreckage, but that's just me.

If you really wanted to mark something with smoke, get in a Sherman Vc Firefly an choose the smoke load out an head to the base.

Panzer.  Sherman's smoke rounds are more like smoke grenades.  They don't go very far.
