Most bottled water is filtered municipal water. It's on the label.

It's no coincidence that EVIAN is NAIVE spelled backwards. :D

Yeah but that filtering does make it taste better, straight from the tap has that crappy taste, bottled water really doesn't have any kinda taste to it.

If you want no taste, then buy distilled water from the supermarket. Cheaper than most bottled water, and guaranteed no taste.

Well we buy the bottled water just because it easier to take with you, which we do a lot, so buying a gallon of distilled wouldn't really work.

For all the locals and scads of tourists--people can get Hot Springs fresh from one of the springs on Central Avenue for free.  Any day I drive by there there is always a line of people with recycled milk bottles capping off gallons and taking it home.

There are still small bottling companies that do exist--despite all the mega-bottlers.  In my hometown of Waukegan, IL. "Glen Rock" bottlers pumped out 30+ flavors for decades.  Small 8 oz bottles just right for kids.  The concession stand at the Beach Park, IL ball fields sold them for a nickel each---then went up to a dime.  Their grape & orange ROCKED :aok

I still have not seen anyone on this board who remembers "Chocolate Soldier".  Then again, no one on this board knows what a slug burger is either.

Nothing like a Billy Goat---with grease dripping out of the Kiaser Roll Bun--at an artery clogging 50,000 calories with an ice cold beer before a Blackhawks game at the "Old" Chicago Stadium.
