Bozo Award
« on: April 20, 2009, 10:57:55 PM »
I'd like to present my Bozo Award to .....well, Bozo of the Flying Circus.
Never before have I witnessed that degree of clowness in a co alt/co e
engagement. When you didn't HO on the merge I thought "great, you in a C205 and me in my Yak at 19k
this should be fun". Instead, after pulling every move out of your bag of tricks and
still couldn't shake the yak, you decided to dive almost a sector to your base ack. Not sure how
your wings stayed on at 550(around the point I started recording) but nevertheless, I couldn't help but
formulate the question.......What makes someone fly to an enemy base at 20k and then turn tail for home
without firing a shot the minute a challenge arises? Why are people so afraid to "die" in their  virtual rides?
Seriously. What is the freaking point of taking off, climbing to 20k over an enemy base and running at the
first sign of a fight?

Any word on when H2H is coming back for subscribers?
I'm looking forward to joining rooms where you know that "red  guy" is in for the "fight to the death" and not
beholden to some ridiculous notion that "rank" means something in this game.

Why are people so afraid to "die" in their  virtual rides?

To break it down even a step further, why are people so convinced they are going to die that they need to run so far?

Just because you're at a disadvantage at that moment doesn't necessarily mean you can't get out of it at some point, some how.

Extend, reverse, climb, roll, hit the brakes and let 'em fly right by.   :D  The apparent self perceived lack of skill leaves running to ack, or friends, as the only alternative to actually trying to defend one's self.

Conversely, there are some "run to the ack" situations I feel are legitimate.  Just taking off and high cons all about?  Stay in the ack and try to climb. (Or, sneak away and climb).

Diving 15K and running to the ack is just silly.

You're right, climbing that high is usually a waste of time. However, you mentioned you were both co-alt at 19k, what are you doing that high over your own base? That seems more comical to me...

Everyone plays AH differently; some play for the fight, some play for the comraderie, some play for the wingman tactics, and some play to take bases. Does posting this in any way help promote good gameplay?

This is the best part of the game you have just described? That is the human element of the game?? You just never know what the other guy is going to do.

It is not like he made a HO pass at you and dived away. The way you describe it, he actually tried to fight, saw it was getting hopeless and attempted to disengage. It was YOUR mistake chasing him down. If the chase turns into a long run, just break off and let him return for another fighting chance. What you ask of him is to acknowledge your l33t ski11z and just die.

The way I see it, you blew your chance and blame him for your incompetence. He demonstrated better skills at disengagement against a much faster fighter.

hokly fk as I was reading this thread I just freaked out cause something was moving in the corner of my eye.. it was my shadow.

I got scared.. by my own totally tubular shadow.
*fail*

+1 WTF YOU DOING 19k OVER YOUR OWN BASE?! Better come up with a damn good afk climb excuse :) (oh i just came up with it for you)

Aanyways id just like to throw the name of LtPappy in the mix here.
Maybe someone has experienced his running. I attacked a field, he was co-alt, co-e.. in a spit16 vs my ki84 (not other nmes/frinds).. he aims his plane straight at me, i dive under loop over and he just tries some lazy half rope... against a ki.. eventuallyh e realizes hes roping himself to die.. dives away and runs back to his field.

I stick around, kill a few.. while laughing at him on 200.. (i knew it was him he had ran into ack sortie before after getting outmatched earlier n was the only spixteen around) I see a dar at the next sector field, i figure its clearly him.  I go there, lo n behold.. spixteen trying to grab up hard but I've got alt on him.. as soon as I enter vis range he turns around and bolts it back to his field.. and literally crash lands on the runway.

its your 15 dollars yes yes do what you want... but in wasting peoples time with ur nonfighting, ur ognna get called out for being a beyatch but that's perfectly fine.. if you really dont care about what people think of you >>

so the moral of the story here is:
these people are inconsiderate chits with no fiber or backbone.. they dont care what YOU OR ANYONE ELSE THINK OF THEM-
Sadly thats why this thread comes across as pointless  :frown:

So you've never gone for a leak, gotten yourself another tasty ale and returned to find your plane
was close to 20K? Over my own base? I can't think of a better place to start your hunt with a full
enemy dar bar in the sector.

I love these posts .....someone trying to tell others how they should play the game.

Maybe he was low fuel....maybe he just disengaged? Whatever it was it wasn't worth

a Post.  It's just part of the game.

Yup.  Almost always works, and then you get a fight.

Before you go flaming someone over the forums it is best to have some idea what you are talking about. Bozo is a great guy an an excellent squadie. He's lucky to get on maybe two times a week because his job as a Police Officer causes him to work odd hours. He doesn't have time to become "Uber" or "Elite" like you seem to think you are. He's just here to have fun. Congratulations, you're trashing someone who doesn't monitor the forums and will never see this post, you're a true bad ass.
