One has to wonder why HTC does allow some techy/coding interns from the local college come in and tinker with the model make-overs.  A lot of positive things could be done to the game in a short amount of time for little or no cost (maybe a few pizzas, some soda-pop, etc) to better the graphics all the way around, update models, update flight models, perhaps add in a few new vehicles and aircraft, implement new game features, etc etc.  There is a lot of no cost talent out there that isnt being used.

Yeah, I'm sure there is a concern with things getting hi-jacked, but I'd be willing to bet there would be ways to isolate the work to a LAN and limit access to certain magical recepies so the secrets of HTC are let out like Pandara's Box.   :)

btw... a LOT of aircraft need updated.  'specially the Mossie (in more ways that one, too).   :aok

I believe the B-26 already had a make-over a few years ago? Not too extensive though, I believe they only remodelled the gun-positions and such.

I think the Italian planes need looking after, first.

I don't think it's a hi-res skin.  The cockpit is less than basic.  No throttle that moves, control wheel, basic graphics, etc.

With the comming of animated pilots I would imagine every "old" aircraft will get the latest graphical upgrade.

Development Update october 28,2008 What this all means for now is that we are going to focus on core game development.  We’re going to pull the CT AI mission system and redevelop it for use by CM’s in scenarios and special events.  We’re working on new terrain upgrades in both the technology and the art used.  We want to implement a character animation system.  We want to bring back the old 8 player H2H but expand it both in the number of players and with additional gameplay capabilities.  There’s a lot of systems in the game engine that are dated and in need of overhaul.
