Eagle - A Farewell To Our Friend and Fellow Pilot
« on: April 30, 2009, 07:24:43 PM »
Hail Fellow Pilots!

I regret to inform you that our friend and long time fellow pilot Eagle passed away on Tuesday, April 28th.  Eagle was the 327th Steel Talons Group Executive Officer.  Eagle died from an infection that was contracted after a recent colon surgery.  He was 78.  In our non-virtual world Jim "Eagle" Delaney was a career Naval Aviator during 1950's, 60's and 70's.  Jim was a rare pilot in his day as he was a Non-Commissioned Flight Officer, an uncommon commodity in modern times.  Jim leaves behind several children and grandchildren and was preceded in death by his wife Joan who went to our Lord on August 9, 2007.  They were married for 53 years.  To view some of Eagle's photos go here: http://www.327th.com/pilot_profile/eagles-photoalbum.htm

In honor of Eagle's friendship and life the 327th Steel Talons will host a memorial missing man flight.  Look for further detail in a future post that will announce the Date/Time/Location of this memorial.  All are welcome to join.

Farewell Eagle! You will be missed!

I'll miss you Jim. You were an anchor to the 327th, and one of the reasons I flew. More than just a squaddie in an online game, a real friend.

:salute Eagle - another one that will be missed ingame.

My condolences to his family, friends and squadmates.

Fair skies sir, and gentle tail winds.

I'm the worst pilot ingame ya know!!!

It's all unrealistic crap requested by people who want pie in the sky actions performed without an understanding of how things work and who can't grasp reality.

The same Eagle that used to fly Luftwaffe planes, primarily the 109E and F?

When he flew fighters, Jim usually flew a 190, at least when I flew fighters with him. He was a hard core bomber pilot mostly. And a real friend.

I think you may be thinking Eagler (Eaglr?), I know he flies the 109E/F whenever I see him.
