I use thous on bombers, very easy to aim them.

I think Cajunn means the x12 rockets on the 190F?

Tiffy rockets are very hard to aim....they drop off quick

the Brit 60lb do seem to drop more than the US 5", either way a buildings the smallest thing I can hit with em :(

edit: are they fused at all? seems that you can fire them too late to arm.

Not sure if they were IRL, but when you manage to fire one on the ground in front of you while taxiing, you're toast :)

I get kills with rockets all the time. M3s and M8s you just have to hit within 10 feet of, and for tanks if you hit near them I think you can track them. With the SKD-251 IDK what kind of rockets that thing has, but I have killed panzers before with those rockets just hitting close with 3 rockets.

You can kill tanks with them. But you have to hit them right on the head. Normally you will just track them.

I've blasted Tigers with those fatty IL-2 rockets twice, but the American ones seem to pack a significantly weaker punch.  Also, I think this sums it up pretty well:

They are very lethal if they hit.  They are very hard to hit with.  The same rockets in WWII had a 1-2% hit rate.  They were also only lethal if they hit.  They were hard to hit with.

Seems fine to me.

For me it seems i have a 2 to 1 bounce ratio off tanks and i always come from a high angle 6 shot on them.
IDK but maybe its just bad luck that i get so many bounces. but it is tough to swallow when you do hit the tank on the top and your 5'' rocket goes flying into space.

I shoot 5" rockets at GVs in volleys of two. On occasion I'll change that to 3 but I cant say thats every helped me. Ive knocked out Panzers and Shermans but not a whole lot of them. Then again if rockets are all you have. IL-2s rockets will hit direct to point of center aim at a certain % dive and distance from target. I wouldnt know how to find it out exactly but its fairly close to the target. Against tanks I have found IL-2 rockets to be useless.

I think the rockets on the P-38G and J are the easiest to aim, as they are right under the fuselage.

Got 3 panzer kills in one sortie with the rockets on the 190f-8. i would fly parallel to the ground at around 100 ft. and fire when the tank went under the cowling with salvo 2. If they hit the tank goes boom.

I have killed tanks, it was what I considered a lucky hit, my goal is to track a tank or maybe take the turret out, I never intend to kill it with a rocket. But again you track it a take the turret out unless he has supplies that is usually a kill.

Seeing that I can kill a Tiger with a single rocket hit from the 190F-8, I'd say the rockets are plenty lethal.

my greatest feat with a rocket:

I was defending a port, I had an F4U, I see an LVT, after killing one already with some rockets, I had 3 or 4 left, I shoot  and I hit it, the rocket bounced up and hit me and killed me.  :lol

One night I was being a tard in a TBM off a CV attacking that island VBase in the middle of Baltic when I had my tail shot off and fell into a flat spin. Remember that rockets fire in your direction of travel, not where you aim them. This meant that when I dumped my HVARs they flew straight down and one nailed a Panzer right in the skull. Only tank kill I ever managed with rockets outside the old Il-2.

As a side note, here's a hilarious thing to do: Spawn on a carrier with a plane carrying rockets. Put the tailhook down. Slide the throttle up to 1 or 2 percent. You should start to be flung off the back of the carrier. Quickly salvo all of your rockets.
It could make a great AA defense.
