Anybody ever built anything using these?

My only beef with my cheap Saitek twisty has been lack of buttons.  This could be the answer to my prayers.  Also this website is a Sim-pitters dream come true.  I think there might be a project in my future.

Homeboy has used stuff like that in the past...

The problem I see with them is not being able to program macros to the assigned axis/buttons, it will work great for AH but not all flight sims are as friendly in their keymapping/joystick settings.

This is my current project, I took my old Saitek cyborg apart and rewired it.

I have 1/2 the switch's done and the 3 axis trim unit. So far everything is working well.

I just ordered one yesterday.  I need to get off my arse and post pics of my simpit i plan on having no kb all controls will be labeled so my friends can play too.

Well I got it about 2 hours ago, it's in and working GREAT! It was a breeze to install with no issues at all. I currently have 15 buttons and 4 analog controls working in less than 90 minutes!

As soon as I plugged it in, my system (running XP Pro) recognized it and did the plug and play install. I went to the settings and opened the game controllers, it was there as "BU0836X" and hit all the buttons I connected, with no issue. Launched AH and went to the map controller option and it showed up next to my X52 Pro stick and CH pedals.

Very interesting.  Hmm, I now have a strong to create my own switch panel.  I could use trim wheels and several programmable buttons.

Thanks it's a lot of fun. The trim wheels work well, however I need to work on increasing the range of motion. The pot's rotate 270 degrees, but on the computer the scale only covers the center 90 degrees, making them very touchy. I'm currently working on finding the proper size resistor to place in parallel with the pot to decrease it's sensitivity.

Sakai, look for me, I'm still an easy kill, as I haven't relearned where everything is yet! 

Actually this project has given me many more ideas. So now I'm working on a design for a more complete simpit with proper lever's and actuators for the various functions.

I just received my X board.  A word of advice order the more expensive x board instead of the standard like I did.  To utilize all the switches with the cheaper boardyou will need to wire in diodes (not for me). I am currently working on my trim controls and they will be the first thing implemented.

Mine is the one with David d on it.  I plan on using removable control boxes that will be secured with Velcro.  This way if i change games I can make custom controls to fit my needs, for example changing to lock on or some other sim. The goal is to keep flying and implement as time permits without disabling my pit wish me luck...
