Ye olde forests
« on: May 08, 2009, 04:41:30 AM »
With hard canopies and no icons. Scattered on terrains. Bombs would still damage, but airborne units would be totally blind to the ground and vice versa.  They could see bomb blasts and direct consequent drops, but that's about it.

Solid canopies like we used to have in the early AH2 days, Frank. Remember?

I couldn't stand those forests!

I'm fairly certain Dux, Easycor, or Croduh can make a terrain with more dense tree-cover. I'm still stuck on non-transparent objects. :(

Current trees still block icons. It's quite hard to attack GVs in trees right now unless you're nearly vertical.

As for the old 2D crappy-arse trees,.... Basically you want protection from planes so you can GV "safely"?

If you want safe, stay in the tower. If you're getting bombed up the super-over-modeled Wirb and kill them all. If you don't want to, get a friend or countrymate to roll beside you in one.

If the tree canopy is so dense you can't see the ground through it (and thus can't see GVs) there's no way a GV can roll through it. You know, tanks didn't really steamroll over trees. They had to go around them.

Just the other night had a panzer with 3 wirbs parked around him. Quite effective, defensively.

FYI Krusty, AA GV rounds are stopped dead by tree leaves. Bombs still work.
