I have 3 Mustangs in my Toybox, but for myself personally have been on the fence on the S197 due to the 3V. That is just because I have a preference for the 4V
S197's are awesome and there is tons and tons of great things you can do with them. Even if you can't get the FRPP track pack, go with Steeda or Maximum Motorsports for what you want to do. I like the guys at Maximum for suspension (my early Fox is equipped with lots of Maximum suspension parts)
Maximum's site is here and they have a great amount of S197 Stuff:
http://www.maximummotorsports.com/On my Mod Motor Car (03 Mach 1), just with 4:10's, Auburn Pro, Steeda Tri-Ax, 31 Spline Shafts and SLP Cat Back the car runs 12.8-12.9 all day long. If I am running the DR's, I can hit a low 12.8. Pretty good for a car with a box-stock motor to the filter since the day I bought it 6 years ago.
What is really nice about the S197, is you can drive them and actually live with them as a car. Compared to the Fox-4/New Edge cars, they a LIGHT YEARS better in fit, finish, quality and ergonomics. My 03 has about 9,000 miles on it and my 84 5.0/GT-350 20th Anny car only has a tick over 80K. My 3rd is another 20th AE/GT-350 but, is one of the 6 Ford made with the Turbo 2.3 and T-Tops. That car is a resto-project that is years out from completion.
I was planning on getting a GT-500 to add to the toybox but, Ford dealers gouging really soured me when they first came out. I have been looking at the SRT-8 Challenger instead and will make the final decision when I can drive the manual SRT-8.
BTW, I got to add it's funny reading the "The LS-X MulletMobile will easily beat the Mustang, blah blah blah". Take it with a grain of salt, since 90% of them think the "track" is in the Walmart Parking Lot next to their trailer park. I have put bus-lengths of fully built WS-6's and have had my doors blown off by Mitsubishi's and vice-versa. It always comes down to BS stop's when the green flag drops and the driver.
Just like Smokey Yunick used to say "How Fast Do you want to spend"?
Either way, looks great and totally enjoy your new baby!
