Posting files

OK here is the problem, I have gimp and a couple of pics I want posted but when I go to upload them photobucket doesn't recognize them (XCF) extension. Is there a way I am able to change them to jpeg or gif format so I can post them here??

I haven't used GIMP in a long time but the XCF file is GIMP's own file format, its like Photoshops .PSD file.  Basically you need GIMP to open the photo as it contains special attributes and it cannot be posted on the internet.

There should be a File -> Save As or similar menu option to output the your picture to JPEG or whatever.
