Issue with 'Frankenputer"
« on: May 24, 2009, 12:52:00 PM »
I threw together old parts to get an AH machine running for squaddies who are coming over for barbeque tomorrow. For an old P4 2,8 with radeon 9250 it really does not suck too bad. 1024 textures with Hi-Res pack still yields FRs in the 40s. One wierd issue though. When viewing the map, plane radar icons are all black.
When I go into Graphic detail, GUI, the Icon colors are ALL black. I can slide the color bars around, but they stay black.
 here are screen shots:

I am running at the LCD monitors native resolution of 1440X900, 32 bit, 60hz.
 Clean XP Pro install, SP3.
I have tried two versions of the Catalyst drivers, no Catalyst COntrol installed.
I also purged the video8.cfg file

Here is a portion of the DX-Diag dump:

You just need the Cat 4.11 or 4.12 drivers.

Catalyst 4.12 drivers are the last drivers ATI released which do not have the "black dot" bug for the 9000 series.  Every driver after that has that bug.
