Currently AH features a strong bias toward fighter vs fighter activities, with the main role of bombers being to bomb acks from 20k.
Vehicles, when introduced will have little value other than being annoying pests to the fighters. Tanks and Flakpanzers will be effective at killing paras and vulching(from the ground) enemy airbases, and maybe taking out acks.
If some of the following was done, then strategy would possibly be more varied and *gasp* realistic too.
1. Fix the damn acks. Put more, and much less accurate light AAA around airbases and put medium/heavy AAA around the factory areas.
2. Have a Half-Track that can carry 10 troops to capture stuff with.
3. Make factories capturable if "X" airfields nearby are also captured.
4. Put a time-limit between when a field is captured, and when it becomes useable again.
5. Have limits on the type of aircraft that can be flown out of the different field types. Eg: No B-17's out of the small forward fields.
6. Supply routes. Have a rail system with bridges, stations, marshalling yards, etc. that if damaged affect other facilities "downstream" of them. Make them capturable too.
7. Let the C-47 carry supplies, and maybe even the heavy bombers too. (B-17/B-24, He111 etc. did many supply drops in WW2)
8.Very Important: A "manual" that explains fully and precisely how the strategy system works, with examples of various situations and "mission profiles" that would be effective for each plane type. So the players know what to do, and why to do it.
