BigPlay,

There was also a tendency during the war for American pilots to report EVERY Japanese single-engine fighter encountered as a "Zero."
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I understand that. I am just repeating what I heard, I wasn't there but there does seem to be comflicting reports about Zero encounters in regards th the Flying Tigers.

BigPlay,

There was also a tendency during the war for American pilots to report EVERY Japanese single-engine fighter encountered as a "Zero."

Which would be understandable in the case of the Ki-43, which was basically the IJAAF's version of the IJNAF'a Zero with an almost identicle appearance.

I understand that. I am just repeating what I heard, I wasn't there but there does seem to be comflicting reports about Zero encounters in regards th the Flying Tigers.

I haven't been able to find any reports or combat logs that show any IJNAF units that were operating in the AVG area of operations. All I have been able to find are contacts with IJAAF units and the principal Japanese fighters in this area of operations were the Ki-27 and Ki-43.

I know that some IJNAF units were stationed in the Formosas, but would they be within range to operate in the AVG's area of operations?

I know there is similiar confusion with the RAF Spitfires that took part with the AVG in the defense of Ragoon with claims that the Spitfires were shot down by Zeros in some reports.

I have never read any reports that the AVG fought Zeros.

That doesn't mean they didn't.

I've an extensive library and Zeros were never mentioned in any literature that I have in regards to Zeros and the AVG.

And back to the main subject of this post,

I know I'm gonna get some static for this one but with all the requests and discussion over another perk bomber for AH (B-29 in particular), I'd hope its not just falling on deaf ears.  The game could not only use the 29, but their are other countries in the game (Italy, Japan, Russia, and Germany) which had heavy bombers and regardless of their use in WWII, would also make a good addition to AH and serve to fill in these countries already thin plane sets.

Well, the only thing that I see High Tech definitely saying is coming is new terrain.  In fact, they have indicated that will be the main focus of the next update.   We will get more realistic terrain graphics, and even water that moves.

Who is the person that requested moving water????

.

It looks like water movement is only a px shader effect.  I'd rather be wrong, but I expect it'll still be the same concrete water, with maybe some wake and splash effects when ditching, similar to the purely esthetic wake at ships' bow.

Well all I can tell you is I knew Dick Rossi and other Flying Tigers that lived in my area. I had on many occasions spoke with Mr's Rossi about his days in the Tigers. Now wheather any Zeros were claimed is one thing but I was told that they were encountered. I also did some research on the subject and there are conflicting reports about zeros being in the area that the Tigers operated in . There defiantly were Zeros in China during the Flying Tiger days but as stated the reports are conflicting. All the occasions that I spoke to Dick his mind was lucid and he was able to recall very small details about his days with them. Some were about Pappy Boyington that were very enlightening.

Just out of curiousity, do you mean the AVG, or the 23rd FG?
